Early Heart Candy and Happy Leap Year!

Oddly enough, I actually know someone who has a birthday on February 29! My uncle! My parents just left to go to Vegas to visit him and celebrate his 64th (16th?) birthday! Isn't that nuts. He said he always hated his birthday because people only said Happy Birthday to him every 4 years!

Isn't this some lovely Heart Candy? This is a special stamp set from CTMH, it's an acrylix set called Serendipity and is now unavailable. All you have to do to win is leave a comment on this post by Tuesday midnight. I will choose a winner next Wednesday, March 5.

Here is a fun card using the Stampendous stamp Bee Trio, the sentiment is SU. Enjoy your extra day!

Where have I been and Winner!

First, the lucky winner is Mudmaven! Please email me with your address! My email is located under my picture!

And where have I been? Not creating, darn'it. Today, I'm home with the flu. Yep, my husband's respiratory infection turned into the flu and he gave it to me. I have a temperature and right now I'm sweating! It's been a rough February but luckily, March is around the corner.

Don't forget Leap Year, Heart Candy on Friday! Pin It Now!

My Card Sketch Notebook

Do you have little bits of paper floating around here and there with card sketches? I do, so I made myself a little notebook using my Bind-It-All. I got it for Christmas and this is the first time I've used it. It was so easy and I didn't even watch the demo CD it came with.

I had read on another blog about taking paper for your inner pages to a copy place and having them cut it for you. So I took a ream of paper to Staples and had them cut my paper. What a fab idea. I wish I could give credit but it was on one of my blurfing days and have no idea. I also broke out my Two Scoops paper. The alphabet is called The Works from CTMH.

Enjoy your Monday!

Better Late than never Heart Candy!

Sorry, this took so long to post but I had meetings today at work and just didn't have time!

This week's candy is a 6x6 paper bad of Basic Grey's Two Scoops paper! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. Maybe answer this question, what's your favorite stamp set and/or stamp line out today! I'm a big fan of MFT but I also really like Paper Trey Ink! Of course, I also have quite a bit of CTMH and SU but I really like these other two lines because they are so different. I mean how many floral stamps can you have (I have tons!) so it's kind of nice to find some companies that are a little unique!

Have a great weekend!

A quickie for you...

Here is a card that I made for a challenge I was in a few weeks ago. I used more of Au Chocolate paper from SU. The card fits in a business size envelope so something a little different. I used CTMH All My Love stamp set. The paper flower is from CTMH and was originally white but I colored it with my copic marker to match. Have a great day everyone and talk to you soon!

This week's winner is...

Missatoou. Please email me ASAP with your snail mail. To last week's winner and Julie Mutch, so sorry, with being sick I haven't had a chance to take your packages to the post office! I'm going to try today but it's raining and I have to take the baby to the Dr. But for sure by the weekend!

I'm working on a couple of projects. I hope to post something for you all tonight. Last night I went to bed early and actually got a good night's sleeps so I feel a little better. Make sure you check back on Friday for more heart candy! Pin It Now!

I had hoped to post sooner than this but my baby with his atomic germs got me and my husband sick! We spent almost the entire weekend in our pj's watching really bad TV. I did get a chance to go to the Scrapbook Expo which was really cool. I wish that I felt better but it only comes once a year so I forced myself to get cleaned up to go. Even though it is geared towards the scrapbooker there are still tons of paper and embellishments and tools that are great for the cardmaker too!

Anyhow, here is how I packaged up my cards.

I used clear boxes that I got from the Clear Bags website. My stamps are all Paper Trey Ink. I think that they came out very cute.

Switching gears to some spring colors, I made this very cute card using MFT stamps.

The paper is double sided from Crate Paper. I used the stamp set Rain or Shine for the main image but the umbrella is from Shower Time. I paper pieced the coat and umbrella. The umbrella paper is just the other side of the floral paper. I used my copics and put some shine on the water using liquid glass. The ribbon is also Crate Paper and the prima flower matched perfectly. The cardstock is CTMH cranberry.

Don't forget heart candy! I will choose a winner Wednesday morning.

Heart Candy is Here!

First, I have not heard yet from the winner of last week's candy. Please email me by Saturday midnight or I will draw another name! This week's candy is another acrylix stamp set called Doodle Alphabet. It was a stamp of the month and is not yet available in the catalog.

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post. You can just say hi, tell me what projects you are working on, what you're doing on this long ( if you're in the states) holiday weekend. I gotta figure that my International friends don't celebrate President's Day! We're probably going to go into LA and eat, maybe go to Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade to shop, eat, and hang out! Nothing too crazy!Did you check out the new Paper Trey Ink Release? They have some fabulous new stamps and products. I'm pretty sure I qualify for the free anniversary set. If you buy 12 unique stamp sets from them in a year, you can get their next free anniversary set next year.

I'm already thinking about Mother's Day and have started making a small gift for my Grandmother, a set of Thank You and Note cards to use throughout the year.

On all of these, I used CTMH Lilac Mist Cardstock, black and Desert Sand ink. The dp is retired SU called Spring Showers. Her first initial is an L in case you were wondering. I used my scallop, square and circle nestabilities . The stamp sets used were Paper Trey Ink Trajan Monogram and the square and circle border and corners sets.

This one turned out to be my favorite! I'm probably going to make her 8-12 cards, some duplicates but some just a little bit different. I hope to show you how I'm packaging them this weekend. Talk to you all soon!

For my Valentine

Here is a really simple and cute little gift that I made for my hubby. I used the little heart tins that I bought from Paper Trey Ink.
My tin was inspired by Nichole Heady's blog. The template for the heart card can also be found there. I covered my tin with K&CO. Smitten paper which I had (ironically) and I used my CTMH Adorable stamp set for the background seen on the card. I just trimmed the tin with some SU grosgrain ribbon and filled my tin with Hershey Kisses. Happy (soon to be) Valentine's Day! Pin It Now!

Onesie Cards

There is still time to comment for blog candy. Also, if you are interested in seeing CHA sneak peaks be sure to visit craft critique!

I absolutely love this card. I got the template from Lauren at My Time. Usually, when I try these templates, they never come out as good but these ones actually came out pretty good.

This one was the first one that I made. I used Blush Cardstock and the gingham paper I used for the trim I found in my scrap pile.

This one was made with white cardstock and trimmed with baby pink cardstock. I used my circle scallop nestabilities for the trim. The stamps are from Amuse and the stork was stamped in Desert CTMH ink.

I used Heavenly Blue cardstock on this card. The stamps are also Amuse and the overalls are stamped in Desert ink. I used silver brads - it was the closest that I could get to snaps.

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. It was 80 degrees here in sunny Southern California!

Valentine Heart Candy!

Here is a fun CTMH acrylix stamp set called Because I love You up for grabs. I only used the large heart stamp once! But I just have so many heart stamp sets right now and I just don't think I'll use it enough so maybe someone out in blog candy will find a use for it! To win is easy, leave a comment on this post by midnight Tuesday and I'll pick a winner using Random.org on Wednesday morning. If you are the winner, please email me with your address within 3 days to claim your prize! Any comment is fine, but if you are looking at CHA sneak peaks let me know what items are catching your interest! For me, it's the new Basic Grey paper. You can see a sneak peak here. I really like Cupcake, that's a paper I can really use.

Enjoy your weekend! Pin It Now!

Altered Mailbox

I got on the mailbox bandwagon and bought a couple of these mailboxes at the Target Dollar Spot. I covered this one with scraps of paper I had laying around my craft desk.

I think it came out really cute. I used the All My Love stamp set from CTMH, CTMH ginham ribbon and a pink prima paper flower with a red CTMH sparkle for some bling! Now, I just need to fill it with some goodies and give it to someone special. Pin It Now!

CPS 50 Challenge

Here is a card that I did for CPS 50, it's a challenge over here.

I kept it very simple. The sketch called for a "diamond" or "harlequin" background (I wish my new cuttlebug folders were here!) so I used this CTMH background paper. The stamp set is CTMH All My Love and I used my SU Circle punches and my scallop nestabilities for the main image. The big brad is a glitter brad from Creative Imaginations and the ribbon is American Crafts.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I am very excited about having a girl. Not too worried yet about my pocket book. Believe me, my mom can't wait to let loose! As it is, I've hardly had to spend any money on Tyler's clothes, he's gotten hand me downs from a cousin and my mom is always buying him stuff. But I know, that I'm not going to be able to resist buying all that pretty girly stuff :)

It's a Girl!

I just found out today that I'm having a girl! My husband wanted another boy..since our son is turning into Dennis the Menace I think he's nuts! LOL. I can't wait to be able to buy something other than blue, brown and beige!

I'm going back to work tomorrow. I had blood drawn today at a lab, visited my Doctor and I still have to go and get an ultrasound done on my kidneys but I can go to work while I wait to have that scheduled. So for now, it looks like things can go back to normal.

I was hoping to do some stamping tonight and be able to take pics of the cute mailbox I altered, but the baby and my husband are asleep in our bed which is right next to my stamp corner. If I turn on the light it might wake them so instead I have this card to show you.

I used a sketch from pagemaps - it was a challenge and this card was the reject :(

My goal was to use up some scraps and the CTMH All My Love stamp set which I did but I think it came out wierd. Oh well, not everything turns out great, it's all part of the creative process, right? Pin It Now!

I'm home!

Well, I'm home! I was on 23 hour observation in the hospital which was not fun! I was in a lot of pain so I had some pain meds but they seemed to wear off pretty fast. I, also have very small veins that like to hide so my arms are all bruised up and look like a pincushion from the IV and all the blood they had to take. Apparently, I have a kidney stone on the move on my left side and one on my right and a possible cyst on my kidney too. So I'm going to see my dr. on Monday for an ultrasound to see where everything is at. I'm feeling a lot better but Thursday and Friday was rough! The baby is fine and moving around so that's good news.

THANK YOU! so much for all of your kind prayers and words. My blogland friends are the best. Heart candy will be back on Friday! First time I've missed! Here is a little card dedicated from the heart for you all:

I plan on spending the weekend relaxing but I hope after my appointment, things can get back to normal. Let's hope my right kidney stone decides to stay dormant! Enjoy the Superbowl and I hope to talk to you all soon. Pin It Now!

Heart Candy Postponed

Sorry to say that heart candy has been postponed. I was admitted into the hospital Thursday evening with kidney stones. As I am pregnant, it poses a little bit of a complication. I'll talk to you all soon. Pin It Now!
