You Make my Whole Face Smile

Hi everyone, I have a super quick post for a challenge card that I made for the CardzTV challenge. The challenge was a color challenge which is the hardest challenge for me.

The challenge was to use the colors red, yellow and blue. I think that I cheated a little since my dp has some dots of other colors. The dp is I think from Echo Park Hello Summer. I used my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge for the card base and the ice cream cone is from Simply Charmed. I hid his face and used Peachy Keen stamps. The image is cut at 3.0. I also used an SU stamp for my sentiment. I tied a piece of ribbon onto my button and attached with a glue dot. I think it's cute but fun! Thanks so much for looking today.

No Substitute

Hi everyone, Today is my card for the Just-a-scrappin challenge blog post. The challenge was to make a stair card. I had never made one before so I had to watch some youtube videos and look up tutorials and I still had some problems with making it work. So after practice and some ruined cardstock, I think I finally got it the way that I wanted it.

Isn't cute? The cuts are all from the Recess Cricut Lite cartridge and the sentiment is from the MFT stamp set Teacher's Pet. The paper is from my stash. I have had it for years and never used it because it was so glittery and pretty but it was perfect for my card today. Be sure to check out the JAS blog and join the challenge.

Here Comes Trouble

Hi everyone, Today's tutorial is a slider card using the Paper Trey Ink Movers and Shakers Die. Be sure to watch the video to get the recipe and see how to make this fun card.

I think that if I made this card again, I would use a different image, the train really wasn't quite the right shape or size for this card.

Crusin'

Hi everyone and welcome to Anything Goes Wednesday. Today's card is 4x9 1/4 and fits in a standard sized business envelope. The car is from Nifty Fifties and I think the road was cut from Everyday Paperdolls. I did a little bit of doodling with my white gel pen and my sentiment is from Pink by Design. The dp is from my stash and is retired SU. I always forget about using this size of a card for cuts that are long such as this car. It still only needs 1 stamp which is great! Thanks for looking today.

My Cut Search

Hi everyone, Today's Tuesday tool is all about a great website that I use all the time. I am sure that many of you use it too.
Generated image
I do much of my crafting in a corner of my bedroom, I also have very limited space. Most of my Cricut handbooks are not readily at my fingetips when I am creating. My Cut Search not only allows you to view entire handbooks online but you can also do a search for a specific cut. It also works great on my smart phone. Since my computer is on the other side of the room, I use my cell phone to bring up the Cricut handbooks or to search for a cut or to help me with layering a cut since the cuts sometimes show up super small on my Gypsy. If you haven't used this valuable resource before, be sure to check it out! Pin It Now!

Banana Bread for snacktime

Hi everyone, Welcome to Sunday Shareday! Today, I am sharing a very yummy and super easy banana bread recipe. My son calls it "cake bread."

The recipe is adapted from the Martha Stewart Baking Handbook. This is an awesome cookbook! I just wish that I had more time!

Recipe:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
2 cups sugar
1 1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 tb vanilla extract
about 3 medium ripe mashed bananas
1 cup nuts - optional
1/2 cup milk
non-stick cooking spray

Preheat the oven to 350. Coat 2 9x5 inch loaf pans with the spray. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt, set aside.

(I use my Kitchen aid with the paddle attach. In a bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, oil until combined. Beat in flour mixture. Add vanilla, banana, nuts if using, milk and beat til just combined.

Divide batter evenly between two pans. Bake, rotate pans halfway through until toothpick comes out clean, 60-65 minutes. Tranfer to wire rack and cool 10 minutes. Remove loaves from pans and let cool completely.

I will just say that when I make this, I add nuts but my stepdaughter made the last batch and she doesn't like nuts so she left them out and honestly, my little ones liked it better without nuts. We were going to freeze the second loaf but it all got eaten up, very quickly!!! The original recipe called for buttermilk and coconut. Only my husband likes the coconut and I didn't have any buttermilk so I just used what I had (2%) milk and it was still great.

I also forgot to mention that I was in the top 5 last week on the Fantabulous Cricut blog for my Paper Pups card.

Happily Ever After

Hi everyone, Today,I am sharing the card that I gave my brother and his new wife at their wedding and I think that it came out so cute. I can't take credit for the idea but I saw this Youtube video and had to make my own Mickey and Minnie Wedding card. My card is sized at 6x6. I am not normally a fan of larger sized cards because of the postage but since I knew that I would be delivering it, it was actually really fun to make a larger card. Mickey and Minnie are sized at 5.5 and I used the top hat from Billionaire and the veil from Everyday Popups. I used the DCWV silver cardstock that I had gotten from Marshalls and the silver dp is from my stash. The sentiment is from Pink by Design.

I did a little bit of white doodling and would it be wrong for me to say that I love, love, love this card!!!
