All you have to do to win is to leave me a comment on this post (1 comment per person please!) what your favorite designer paper is! I love paper and would love to expand my horizons. You have until midnight Tuesday, July 24 to leave a comment and I will use the random number generator thingy to pick a number and post a winner on Wednesday, July 25.
Here is a card that I made to use up some notecards that I had. Yep, my goal is to use up what I have because it really is hard to justify buying more when I have so much stuff lying around! I used a retired wood bee stamp set from CTMH, my cuttlebug embossing folder and sunny yellow and black for the colors.
I used my trusty Friendship Blessings stamp set. The colors are Amethyst, Crystal Blue and Sweet Leaf.
I've been so busy I didn't tell you all what I did last weekend. First, I went to a Stampin' Up garage sale. I actually found out about it on the one of many blogs that I read every day. It was only 15 minutes from my house. I bought a ton of stuff including some retired paper and scrapbooking stuff so very cool.
Then I went to the Rubber Stamp Convention in Carson. I was kind of disappointed. It seemed really small this year. The vendors that I usually like to visit weren't there this time. I don't know if the Internet has cut into their business and companies/vendors don't see a need to do little conventions anymore or if scrapbooking has taken over and rubber stamping is now a secondary market...all I can say is that I've been going for 10 years and this was the smallest and dinkiest convention yet!
Anyway, as usual thanks for checking me out.
Anyway, I was talking about recreating the SU stamp camp stuff I made. Well we made a small purse that houses 3x3 cards. I didn't take a picture of the SU one because I didn't finish it. Here is my version using the Promise of Spring stamp set and paper pack:
A couple of things to note when making the purse out of our paper, it's very lightweight and is not as sturdy as some of the SU designer paper. On the SU purse, the demonstrator had us use velcro to keep it closed but I think that it would rip when opened if I used it here so I I had to be creative and used a brad and this whatamacallit, can't recall what it's called. I'm going to try and make another one but use regular cardstock and decorate it with our patterned paper instead.
These are the cards that I made to go inside. It took forever because it was like designing 6 cards! I think they came out cute. And since I already had this stuff out, I made a 6x6 card. I think that I'll give it to my Grandma for her birthday next month.
