Early Heart Candy and Happy Leap Year!

Oddly enough, I actually know someone who has a birthday on February 29! My uncle! My parents just left to go to Vegas to visit him and celebrate his 64th (16th?) birthday! Isn't that nuts. He said he always hated his birthday because people only said Happy Birthday to him every 4 years!

Happy Holidays

Here is a simple card. I'm really loving this green for Christmas. I used my Stampendous Doodle Holiday stamp, big brads from CTMH and Basic Grey paper. Don't forget you still have time to comment for Black Friday blog candy!

Better late than never....

Sorry this is such a late post but I could not get into blogger all day for some reason so I had to wait until I got home from work. So without further ado the heart candy for this week is a 6x6 paper pad by Basic Grey called Lily Kate.Be sure to comment on this post. You have until Tuesday midnight and I will choose the winner next Wednesday using random.org.

I HAVE NOT HEARD from the gift certificate winner. I will wait one more day. If the winner could also post a comment on Wednesday's post as well that would be great. That way I know the winner is trying to contact me or is planning on it. There was one heart candy winner that I never got their email. It got lost in cyberspace....if I don't hear by Saturday, then I will redraw for a winner on Sunday.

I love how this card came out. I used Basic Grey paper that I got in blog candy. The stamp is Doodle Happy Holidays from Stampendous. I used ric rac I got in blog candy and the larger eyelets are CTMH. I corner rounded the bottom corners. I colored in with copics and used some stickles for bling.

Mojo Found!

I decided to do Julee's Mojo Monday challenge #3 and I think I found my mojo. This card rocks if I do say so myself. For some reason, everything just went very well with the colors and design which believe me is not always the case.

I used the colors Cranberry and Garden Green. The patterned paper is DCWV glitter stack. I used my snowflake embossing folder to cuttlebug the side piece. The Noel stamp is Stampendous and the sentiment is MFT. I paper pieced the ornament and used CTMH cranberry ribbon as well as some random bling on the little ornament next to the sentiment. I used Copics to color in the image.

Here's a blurry picture of my sweetie on his real birthday which was Wednesday. He is just about recovered from his spots here. Isn't he gorgeous? Have a great weekend everybody. Pin It Now!

Happy almost Labor Day

I hope that everyone is having a fun and happy Labor Day. My Labor Day is hot, it's in the 90's here in sunny California. I know that I shouldn't complain because we do have some of the best weather around but SCE (our electric company) has been powering down our air conditioner. We signed up for an energy saving program, we get a discount and in return when peak usage is up, they can power down our air conditioner. My mom who works for SCE says people almost never get powered down. Well, we've been powered down 3 days in a row, from like 3:00pm - 9:00pm. My poor baby is a sweat ball. So we have fans going, so we're still using electricity but I guess not as much.

Anyhow, I have a 4th of July layout for you all. I know I make a lot of cards but I actually do a fair amount of scrapbooking too!

I also have two cards for Beate's weekend challenge. I don't love either one so I think I'm going to go back to the drawing board but here they are.

I cannot remember where this paper came from, but the stamp is Changito from Stampendous and the ribbon is WER Memory Keepers.

I used Max and pumpkins stamp from Stampendous, Martha Stewart ribbon and some of the leaves and flowers that I'm giving away in my blog candy. I think it looks a little busy so back to the drawing board. Pin It Now!

Blitzen Paper

Here are two samples using the same sketch. I used Basic Grey Blitzen paper. In both samples, I used my swirls cuttlebug to emboss and sponged CTMH crystal blue ink over the embossing for a soft look. I tied each with some SU organdy white ribbon and highlighted areas with my PSX glitter glue.

In this card, I used the retro ornament stamp from Stampendous, I colored in parts with my copics and highlighted some areas with my PSX glitter glue. I rounded the corners of the matting and cuttlebugged some snowflakes in crystal blue cardstock.

This card uses the Doodle Happy Holidays and Max Wheels stamps. In this sample, I just turned the sketch over so the card opens on the side. I colored Max with copics. The matted circle is cuttlebugged. These aren't colors I use very often so it was a little challenging. Pin It Now!

Blog Candy Fun!

Happy Friday everyone! I have some more wonderful blog candy. I had so much giving away 3 prizes that I think I will do it one more time. It will work the same as last time. Last but not least is the current issue of Just Cards. A fabulous magazine that I bought twice! It's a 10 dollar magazine so I figure someone might enjoy it but wouldn't want to shell out big bucks for it.

I would love if anyone had any ideas on what to do craft wise with baby food jars - I'm starting to collect a ton of them! Now onto a card. I actually have quite a few cards made but none of them are colored in. They're made and stamped, I made a lot doing it this way and then will color all of the images at once so hopefully I'll be posting some cool stuff. I'm participating in a lot of challenges this week! But here's one using this Christmas slab of paper, Fluffles stamp by Stampendous and CTMH organdy ribbon.
