Birthday magic

Today I am sharing my layout for the HSN Cricut 2 contest which I didn't win but I still really love my layout. The paper is from my local store and it's from Remininsce and Creative Imaginations. I used my Gypsy to create black Mickey heads around one of my base layers. I also used Pooh Font and Mickey and Friends and Mickey Font cricut cartridges for this layout. I think that it's super cute but obviously not as elaborate and as beautiful as the ones that won!

Teachers teach

I made this card for a MFT sketch challenge. I used the doily die from MFT and the sentiment is from their Teacher's Pet stamp set. I also used this SU paper that is sorely neglected. I forget what it's called but it's the blue counterpart to Raspberry Tart. I also used white satin ribbon. The base was embossed with a cuttlebug folder.

Challenge #10 Lace and Pearls

Welcome to Birthday Sundaes Challenge #10. The challenge this week was to create a birthday card and use lace and pearls. I had a difficult time with the lace part but ended up using a lace doily which you can see peeking out. I used the formal occasions Cricut cartridge, the sentiment is from SU and the paper is retired SU. In the middle of the flowers I used my Viva Decor pearl pen in silver to create my own pearls. I really love how it came out. I hope that you all decide to visit the blog and join in on the fun this week.

Last week's winner was: TARA. Please send me your details so I can mail your prize to you. This week's blog candy prize is this fun stamp set from Hero Arts. Leave a comment on this post and I will post a winner next Friday.

Today I am sharing a super cute card made with my Cricut. The dp is Echo Park Walk in the Park and the cartridge is Hello Kitty Greetings. I just cut all of the pieces out at 4.0 inches and then put everything together. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper. I hope that you like it! Lily's birthday cake is going to be Hello Kitty which she really likes and I like because I am quite tired of Dora.

Toilet Paper Roll Album

Today, I am sharing a very cute little mini album that I created out of toilet paper rolls. I have seen a lot of these on various blogs and decided to make on myself. I covered the paper with Basic Grey dp and I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge for the tags. I used my Bind it all to bind it together. It was a little tough to get the rolls in to hole punch because I have the older BIA but I got it in there with a little work. I used various leftover pictures from summer layouts and made this very cute and interactive mini album. If you are not big on scrapbooking or you don't want to commit to keeping up with an ongoing project like scrapbooking your family's life - try making mini albums. They are easy to do, don't take very long and have an end!

Christmas in May?

Today I am sharing my layout from Christmas 2009. I used the Jolly Holidays Cart and SEI dp. I still have a couple of layouts left from last summer and a couple of fall and holiday layouts for 2010 and I will be done with 2010. I can't wait to work on the upcoming year!

Challenge #9 Circles and Robots

This week on the Birthday Sundaes Challenge blog we are creating birthday cards with 3 circles on our creation. This week I made a card using the B is for Boy Lite cartridge. After I put the cute robot together I used my black and white pens to do some doodling. The circles were punched with a 1 3/4 inch circle punch and doodled with black pen. The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink and I colored in the "birthday" with red copic marker and then punched out with the modern label punch. The dp is from the defunct Inque Boutique.

This week's sponsor is My Pink Stamper. Add your link to the blog and you could win the stamp set above. Be sure to visit the Birthday Sundaes blog to see everything the DT did this week.

Quick Post

Today, I am sharing some cards that I made using scraps. The above card is all Su with retired SU hostess paper and this fun cupcake stamp.

This card was made for a challenge with MFT and I just forgot to post it. It was a sketch challenge and I used more scraps which I have a ton of.

Quick post today, I am recovering from attending a rally and from completing, or nearly completing my first year of AP Coordinator duties.

Many thanks

I have updated my side column with the current summer mini. If you click on it, you will be able to view it. There are some really fun things in there. I will admit to being a bit more selective on purchasing stamps since I use my Cricut a lot more but sometimes stamps are wonderful to enhance a cricut project and also to create something a big quicker and easier. I would never give up my stamps or my punches!

Stay tune for a special discount when SU announces the "last chance" list on June 1.

Don't forget blog candy here. I just noticed that I have 76 followers. Yay! Thanks so much for following me. I give weekly blog candy and plan on giving a big candy package when I hit 100 followers. I hope that it comes next month because that will be my 3 year blogoversary and very close to my 38th birthday! So celebration candy will hopefully be coming soon.

I have been crazy busy as the AP Coordinator at my school and I have been involved in other school activities too along with trying to potty train Lily and then every weekend we have something going on. This weekend we are going to Legoland. Not as random as it seems. We got free tix over Christmas break and it was for the first time ever rained out and closed so they gave us tix to come back and now is the time!

I appreciate every comment that you all make and I am very grateful to you all for visiting my humble little blog! Make sure that you visit me every Friday as I give away a special treat each week!

It's a girl

Today I am sharing a card that I made for a friend at work who was expecting a baby. This cut is from I think New Arrival. The dp is retired SU and was my way of trying to use up scraps.

I have a question for you all...what do you guys do with the cards you create? I have donated some and am thinking about giving some for gifts but I have way more cards than even people I know!

Challenge #8 Recipe Challenge

Is it wrong to say that I love my card this week? My daughter who loves cats, tried to steal it away before I could take a picture of it. This week at the Birthday Sundaes Challenge blog, we were to create a card that used 2 different patterned papers and 3 embellishments. In my card I used two different patterns from I think it's called Holiday Lounge from SU. It's retired and supposed to be a holiday paper but works perfectly with groovy images. My cat is from Nifty 50's, my first cut from this cartridge, the cutout the cat is on is also from this cart. I have to admit that my card is inspired by a card that I saw on Expressions by Pinke. My 3 embellishments are durango ribbon, rhinestones for the cat's eyes and a teal square rhinestone brad from SU. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from My Creative Time and "Cool Cat" is from My Pink Stamper.

I hope that you will join the Birthday Sundaes challenge. Be sure to visit the blog for more inspiration from the DT.

MFT blog candy

I really like this simple card. The cardbase is kraft and the dp is from A Muse Studio. The stamp set is Farm fun from Amuse Studio. I used my nestabilities for the circle and scallop circle and I colored in a bit of the cow with the copics. Isn't cute?

Last week's winner was Glennis. Please email me with your address so that I can mail your prize to you. This week's prize is this MFT stamp set. To win just leavea comment on this post and I will select a winner next Friday.

Make a Wish

Today's card uses product from A Muse Studio. The polka dot paper is not lightweight dp but more like a light cardstock. I used my copics to color in the birthday cakes. A very simple card but sometimes when the mojo is lacking it's nice to start small and start with simple. Hope you all have a great day.

Sympathy

Today's card is a simple one. I used kraft cardstock and stamped the sentimentright on it. The brown ribbon is also from A Muse Studio. I used my nestabilities for the oval and the scallop oval. The tree is from the A Muse Studio sampler. I stamped it once and then stamped over it again which kind of gave it this very cool look. I don't like making sympathy cards but it's a fact of life so I always have to have at least a couple handy.

Challenge #7 Fairy Birthday

This week's challenge on the Birthday Sundaes challenge blog is to create a new birthday card "anything goes". This week the DT are using some images from Pattie's Creations. I colored in my Pattie's Creations digital image with copic markers. I also used rasberry tart dp from SU. It seemed like an awful lot of pink so I colored the wings lavender and used some glitter to make them shimmery. The sentiment is from MFT and I used punches for the image and oval scallop nestabilities for the main image.

I hope that you will play along and link your image to the challenge on the Birthday Sundaes blog. This week our sponor Pattie's Creations will be giving away a $10 voucher to her store.

Happy retirement

I have quite a few teacher friends who are retiring this year, so I have decided to start making retirement cards. This card was made using the Cricut Formal occasions cartridge and last year's summer dp from SU. The cardstock colors are turquoise, pear, daffodil. I love how it came out and I hope that my teacher friend gets to do this during his retirement, lay on the beach and relax!

You are amazing

Today's card uses all A Muse Studio products. The stamps are from the Sampler that comes with the demo starter kit. The rhinestones are also A Muse and I put rhinestones in the middle of the flowers for some bling. I used kraft for the card base.

So some news. I've decided to keep my SU demonstratorship and A Muse Studio was just nice to get the starter kit with a lot of new product. So remember if you want to purchase SU product I am still here to help you.

Have a great day.

Butterfly birthday

Today's card uses A Muse Studio products. The stamps are from the sampler kit and the butterflies are dies. The background paper is also from A Muse. I put pearls in the centers of the flowers. I like the way it came out, very simple but I think pretty.
