Two Scoops Winner!

Wow, you guys really want this Two Scoops paper! It is the perfect spring paper. The winner is Deb Neerman. Deb please email me!

It was very interesting reading everyone's "wish" list of craft items. I absolutely love my scor-pal. I use it with almost every card. I do have a scoring blade on my Carl cutter but to use it I have to take the cutter off and put the scoring blade on and then take it off and put my cutting blade on. The Scor-pal is just for scoring. I didn't know if I would really use it but I do, to help me fold every card.

Also, one place that you can get an ATG gun is at framingsupplies.com. You can read a really fab review here by Lauren Meader of My Time.

In my opinion, the one die cut machine you should get, if you can only have one is the cuttlebug. It's fairly inexpensive - especially if you get it at Michaels, or Joann's or the like with a coupon. It's so versatile with the dies and the embossing, plus you can use other company's dies with it such as the much desired nestabilities. I have the oval, circle, rectangle and square nestabilities and I totally love them! I use the circle and square ones the most so if you are buying them slowly think about which ones you would use the most.

I will have more heart candy on Friday, it will be for a stamp set but I do have extra pads of Two Scoops so that will be heart candy for later in February! Thanks everyone for visiting. Pin It Now!

More All My Love

Here is another card using CTMH's All My Love stamp set. The paper is from some blog candy that I won. The layout is a little different but I think that's really versatile especially with all of the circular stamps out there! I used SU's punches for the circles which made this a very easy card to make! Enjoy your Tuesday!

My Creative Classroom

Here is something new and fun to try, My Creative Classroom.

It's a way to take craft classes online. I was fortunate to win a class for free last month and it was a great way to take a class in the comfort of your home. With a small child at home and no rubber stamp stores, it's hard to get to a class let alone find one. If you have some time, you might want to check it out! Pin It Now!

All My Love Chocolate

This week, I will be creating cards using an uninked stamp set called All My Love by CTMH. Some regulars to my blog might remember that I gave away two of these late last year for blog candy. I have my own copy that I just never used! As I went through my love/heart/etc CTMH stamp sets, I realized that I had quite a few so I weeded out one never used set that will be this week's heart candy so be sure to check back on Friday to see what that is.
I was getting a little bit tired of pinks and reds and decided to change it up by using chocolate and vanilla. All stamps are from CTMH's All My love stamp set. The paper is Au Chocolate from SU as is the beautiful satin ribbon. I used my slot punch to make the scallops for the bottom of the card. The heart is pops out a little more IRL as it is on dimensionals.
I just love how it turned out so I will definitely have to try using this paper again with one of my valentine/anniversary stamps. It just looks so elegant!

Two Scoops Heart Candy!

Well, I was going to post some eye candy and I was planning on a completely different heart candy but I just didn't have the energy to take pictures and connect my camera and upload my pictures...best laid plans right? Plus it's raining here! Southern Californians know how we deal with the rain and the cold...not well. We are very spoiled! But it's been raining for a couple of days now and it poured all evening and night which just makes me want to curl up in my warm bed!

Now, how awesome is this candy? It's the brand new Two scoops 6x6 paper pad by Basic Gray. The mailman delivered it yesterday so how lucky are you guys! To win is simple, leave a comment here on this post by Tuesday, midnight and I will use random.org to select a winner Wednesday, January 30. If you'd like, you can answer this question, what craft item are you saving up for? I really want an ATG gun! I go through monoadhesive like crazy! I also would like the Spellbinder Heart nestabilities and some of their other dies.

I hope to find some time to post tonight! Have a good weekend!

Last Boho

Well, this is the last design I have to share with MFT's Boho Blossoms. I am onto another stamp set. It will most likely be another Valentine themed set as I have some little treats that I have to make.

I used the same DP from the card a couple of posts ago and the ink and cardstock used is CTMH Barn Red which I normally never use but goes perfectly with this DP. The brads are Heidi Grace and matched perfectly.

My conclusion? I got this set because I tend to get almost all of MFT's releases, they are just so different but then when I got it, I just looked at it. I was a little perplexed on how to use it. But once I got going, I found that it was easy to use, so it's definitely a keeper.

Lucky Winner!

I just loved reading everyone's comments on their disappointing purchases. It's nice to know that I am not alone. I have tons of stamp sets that I haven't used. You see many (and will see them this year too) as giveaways. Basically, my resolution is to use all of my uninked stamps this year and those that I just can't use for one reason or another will find their way this year as blog candy. I figure someone out there in blog land could use it instead of it sitting gathering dust and taking up space. I, also, have a design runner which I hardly use but I got it as a birthday gift a couple of years ago from my mom so I will be trying to find ways to put it to use! I also have a light table which I have somewhere that I have NEVER used! I thought that I would do dry embossing but never got around to it. I also bought the Creative Memories circle and oval system. I used it a few times but the coluzzle takes up so much less space and the CM system is in storage somewhere and I haven't missed it! Well, my list could go on and on!

So without further ado the winner is Amy from Pickled Paper Designs. Check out her blog. She has some really lovely card samples and I already see a few that I plan on CASE'ing! Amy please email me (my email is under my picture), I'd like to get this out today if possible! Don't worry if you didn't win this time. I have heart candy every Friday so check back then! Happy Wednesday! Pin It Now!

Boho with a different look

I decided to use my MFT Boho stamp set in a way that wasn't just Valentines/Love/Wedding and came up with this:

The DP used is from Daisy Bucket Designs. I used the colors crystal blue and barn red which matches the dp very nicely. The faux stitching is from SU's All in a Row stamp set. It looks really sharp in real life. Remember, you still have time to post your comment for the blog candy!

We are having Finals at the high school I work at every day this week so I'm not sure if I will have time to post the winner as early as I usually do, but by 9:00am for sure so be sure to check back and see if you've won!

Another with MFT Boho Blossoms

Well, I'm sad to report that I was not a winner at the casino this weekend. We played bingo and my sister actually was 1 away like 3 times but didn't win. Bummer, since the payout was 1200 bucks! Oh well maybe next time! I didn't get to any crafting this weekend just so busy but I do have this to share:

This is paper from some cards that I made a couple of posts down. That's what makes it so hard to use up all of the paper we buy like crazy. You can get a lot of milage out of a couple of sheets of DP. This is Boho Blossoms stamped in a CTMH pink (the name escapes me!). I used my Nestabilities for the circle and the scalloped border. The rick rack is Doodlebug and the paper flower is prima. The cute little brad is from the Target $1 spot. I was there today and picked up some more very cute brads and some really pretty blue ribbon! I also used my cuttlebug heart embossing plate for a little added texture.

I also started to make little treats for my stepdaughters friends and for some of my girlfriends. These are little plastic pouches that I got from clear bags. I used more of that same DP, ric rac and the heart stamp from Boho Blosoms. I put a heart gem in the middle of the flower for a little bling. Filled it with Hershey's Valentines Kisses and it's a very cute little treat!

15,000 Hits Heart Candy

Wow, I just noticed that I am approaching 15,000 hits! So in honor of all of your visits, I will be offering up a very nice heart candy.

This candy includes this new 7 Gypsies stamp, some additional ink pads and additional oval stamps. Worth over $30 bucks. I bought it and just never used it so hopefully it will find a new happy home out there in blogland.

To win just leave a comment here on this post by midnight, Tuesday, January 22 and I will use random.org to choose a winner. If you'd like, you can answer this question, what have you purchased that you just don't use or was a big disappointment?

Well, I'm going to the Indian casino for the day tomorrow for my cousin's birthday. I hope to win some money! Have a fab Friday!

Happy Mail and a layout

First, I wanted to say thank you for the happy mail. I received two lovely cards in the mail. The first is from Jennifer Taylor. I received this card a couple of weeks ago but I kept forgetting to take a picture of it.

Isn't pretty? I have it posted on my bulletin board!

This card is from Tracy for some heart candy she won. Isn't cute and cheerful?

Now onto my layout for my baby's book.

Who says you can't use pink and periwinkle on a boy's page? Tyler was about six months old and my mom really wanted to take him on the carousel.
The lettering was done with my Cricut, I think I used the George cartridge. Do you see that tiny carousel? It's Quick Kutz and I used my cuttlebug to diecut it. What a pain - a lot of little pieces but I used something in my collection that I hadn't used yet. The paper is Cutie Pie by CTMH. The layout inspiration came from my CTMH Reflections book. Resolutions on track so far...

I have continued to work on my baby's one year album and have probably about 6 2-page layouts left. Also, I have decided to select one stamp or stamp set that I have bought but remains virgin (uninked) each week or so and create with it. I have so many stamps that I haven't used it's ridiculous. This decision follows under my resolution to use what I have!

So for the next couple of days you will see creations made with My Favorite Things Boho Blossoms.

I made two cards that are very similar. They were inspired by a card by Laura Canale that I saw on Splitcoaststampers.

This card is more close to a CASE except I used the heart stamp instead of the flower. The background stamped with SU French Script. I used colonial edge scissors, now retired, also from SU. I added a little bling from my stash for the middle of the heart.

This card uses the flower stamp from the set and the layout is the same. However, I used my cuttlebug script embossing for the background. Both cards used the CTMH colors of Black and Colonial White.

I am not sure which card I like better, if I had to pick, probably the second one. I think the first card would make a lovely wedding card and the second would be a nice card to slip in my husband's laptop case. So which card do you like best?

Heart Candy Winner

Jaime! You are the winner of the Mellow candy! Please email me ASAP. My email is located under my picture! I hope to mail this week's, along with last week's candy on Friday (sorry to last week's winner! Just couldn't get to the PO, I have a sick baby!)

I made some very cute cards yesterday but I still need to take pics and load them on my computers so hopefully I'll have a chance to do that tonight!

Be sure to check back on Friday for more candy! Pin It Now!

A spring card for you

I just wanted to post a quick card. This card uses CTMH's January stamp of the month Eastertime. Since CTMH's cardstock has a white core, it makes it easy to do designs and sandpaper to show the white core. I think the card would make a lovely Mother's Day card for my grandma.

Don't forget to post a comment to be entered into my heart candy.

Challenge Cards for the New Year

Here are three cards that I made for Kimmie's sketch challenge. My first challenge of the year!
The paper is from Cloud9 , this is an Amuse stamp called Flower Child. The sentiment is MFT.

This is a baby card that I made for a colleague who is having a baby girl. I used SU Bundle of Joy, colored simply with a copic marker. The paper came from some candy I won. The sentiment is Amuse and the ribbon is from my stash.

In this last example, I turned the sketch around a little. It's a birthday card for my cousin using one of my neglected bellas. I paperpieced her pants. I used a bella bauble and a brad I got from some candy I won for the center of the flowers. It's a little busy but I think I like it anyway! I can't believe it's Sunday already, where did the time go?

Well, I will leave you with a pic of my son on his little quad. Doesn't he look cute in his helmet?

Mellow Yellow Heart Candy

The heart candy for today is a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad called Mellow. It's very easy to win. Just leave any old comment here on this post by midnight Tuesday, January 15. I will use random.org on Wednesday morning to pick and post a winner. Remember, you must email me if you are a winner by Saturday midnight!

We got my little son one of those motorized quads (they're like big wheels sort of, except motorized). So we're getting him a little helmet and taking him to the park this weekend to ride it and we will probably do laundry and veg out a little. I will probably get some scrapbooking/stamping in. What are you all doing this weekend? I hope something fun!

Enjoy your Friday!

Flower Child

Well, I was hoping to post the very cute birthday card I made but it's almost 10:30 and I'm ready to go to bed. Too much CSI and I made dinner which wore me out. Anyway, I'll post it this weekend. In the meantime, here is a card using CTMH products including the Flower child stamp set.

I'll be posting Heart Candy tomorrow as soon as I can! So be sure to look for that. In the meantime, stay warm! Pin It Now!

Wednesday, January 9, 2008

Here is a fun layout that I created for my stepson's book. Green is his school colors so I found a Jets sticker set, peeled the numbers off and put his number on there with this varsity letter sticker set I found. The papers are all CTMH and are retired. I like how it came out.

I have some other things to post but will try and get to some of it tomorrow. I'm just so tired! Mainly because my husband is sick and has spent the last two nights coughing up a lung! I feel bad that he's sick but all I can think after the second sleepless night is a "shut up already!". Isn't that mean?

Oh what the heck let me also share this layout.

These are pages for Tyler's baby book! Yeah! One step closer to one of my resolutions. It just kills me how fascinated he is with a pair of cheap sunglasses and an empty Dove chocolate bag when he has gobs and gobs of toys to play with it! The first page really shows what a little ham he is!

Anyway, I hope that everyone is having a good week. I'll try to post something for you all tomorrow but will definitely be back with some heart candy on Friday!

Winner announced!

I planned on having something posted today but just ran out of time. I will post tonight! I have been working hard on my resolutions. One of which is to finish my baby's 1 year album and to complete at least 1 layout a week. This week, I finished 2 layouts, one of which is for my baby's album. I have not purchased any paper but I did win some blog candy and got some paper which totally does not count because I didn't buy it, I won it! I hope to accomplish another goal the end of this month by setting up a Christmas savings/property tax savings account. It truly sucks that my property taxes are due in December! December ends up being a crazy expensive month and I don't enjoy it as much as I could because of that.

I really enoyed reading everyone's resolutions/goals for the year. They all sound very doable. I think losing weight has got to be the hardest goal because sometimes the weight just won't come off and it can be so frustrating. So I really applaud everyone who posted that they have lost weight and are plugging along to lose more! Usually that's one of my goals along with exercising more but I am expecting a baby the first week of June! So I have just gained 6 pounds so far so my goal is to keep my weight down. I only gained 20lbs with Tyler and hope to do the same with this baby.

Ok so onto the winner: Momsnack! Please contact me by email. My email is located under my picture!

If you didn't win this round, no worries, more heart candy is on the way. Check back on Friday! If you are new to my site, I post candy every Friday and the winner(s) the following Wednesday. I post new creations about 3-4 times a week! I hope to see you all on Friday! Keep pluggin away on those resolutions! Pin It Now!

Back to the Grindstone

After two weeks of vacation, I am now back to work. It wasn't too bad but I had gotten spoiled and really used to being home! So I didn't post anything for awhile, I was just trying to enjoy my last few days of vacation but I did do some scrapbooking and attended a stamp camp at a fellow demonstrators house. This is one of the projects we did:

It's a little matchbook card. How cute is that? The inside has sticks of gum wrapped in text weight paper and stamped to match. All stamps, paper and ink are CTMH. Enjoy your week and don't forget about heart candy! Check back on Wednesday morning to see if you're a winner! Pin It Now!

Thank you Card

I finally was able to sit down and make my son's thank you cards.
The stamps sets used were SU's Circus Train and MFT's Essential Sayings which fit in the SU Word Window Punch. The paper is from Anna Griffin. I used my copics to color in the images. I wanted something fun, and I think this fits the bill!

Heart Candy is Back!

Heart Candy is back. This week's heart candy is a CTMH acrylix stamp set called Simple Stitches.

To win is simple. What's your New Year's Resolution? It doesn't have to be anything serious, it could be a crafting resolution. Mine is to finish my baby's one year album once and for all and to use up the paper I have (or at least some of it!) before buying more! Just leave your comment here by midnight Tuesday and I will use random.org to pick a winner on Wednesday, January 9.

Happy New Year

HI Everyone, I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday! Here are a few cards that I did at my monthly stamp club.

My demonstrator made this cute flip book for me as a Christmas present. It's an A-Z book and I can't wait to fill it with pictures!

Don't forget, I will be posting heart candy tomorrow! Hopefully, everything will start going back to normal with the holidays being over! Pin It Now!
