This is first prize, a CTMH acrylix stamp set called Rustic Flowers.

Second prize is this fall ensemble of fall craft ribbon, a pumpkin punch and a container filled with felt flowers and leafs and a small container filled with little Halloween embellishments. I know the picture is terrible.

And third prize is the Sept/Oct 2007 Rubber Stamper magazine. Thanks everyone for visiting. Hope you all have a great holiday weekend! My last before school starts up again and I have to go back to work! Pin It Now!

More Sketch Samples

Well today is a better day. Thank you all for your kind wishes. My husband's Excursion had a good amount of damage from the blowout. I guess the force caused the car to bounce and hit his muffler which completely bent and there is some cosmetic damage as well. But he's ok just bummed that his "baby" is hurt and has to go to the car hospital.

I got a prescription for my little guy's excema so let's hope that works. He did NOT want to go to daycare, poor thing. This morning, he woke up early and would not go back to sleep if I didn't hold him. I think he was afraid that when he woke up I wouldn't be there.

I went to my first SU stamp club meeting. It was quite nice. We made two cards, they weren't quite to my style but I learned some new things so that was cool. I bought the tag corner and and ticket corner punch and a stamp set called short and sweet.

Tomorrow I will have some more blog candy so be sure to come back and check it out. In the meantime, I have quite a few projects to share all utilizing the same sketch but all with a very different look.
I used Lilac Mist and Buttercup CTMH cardstock. The dp is called Sarah from SU. The stamp is American Art Stamps which I colored in with copics and paper pieced the outfit. The ribbon is CTMH Lilac Mist. The buttercup cardstock was cuttlebugged with the baby embossing folder. The sentiment is from a $1.00 Michaels acrylic stamp set.
This is Giftabella, all pretty in pink. The cardstock is CTMH baby pink which I ran through my cuttlebug with the swirls embossing folder. The dp is from Making Memories. I paper pieced her outfit and everything else is colored in with my copics. I used my Marvy scallop punch and the sentiment is from a Michaels $1.00 acrylic stamp set.
I used all CTMH products for this card. The stamp set is called Totally Chic. I used chocolate and blush. The blush cardstock was run through my cuttlebug using the swirls embossing folder. The paper is More to Adore and the ribbon is the chocolate ribbon round. I did use my Marvy scallop punch (not a CTMH product).
I also used CTMH products for this card. I used the Delight in Everything stamp set with the Let's Get Together Paper pack. The colors used are Cranberry, Garden Green and Buttercup. The sentiment is from a Michaels $1.00 acrylic stamp set and I used my scalloped scissors on the sentiment and the brads are from Just4Fun.

My last card uses a Fluffles stamp from Stampendous. I colored the lights with copics and Fluffles is colored in with Prismacolored pencils. The dp is from a paper slab that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of. The ribbon is CTMH. I cuttlebugged some snowflakes on the side instead of putting a sentiment since the stamp already has one on it.

I hope you enjoyed these cards. Thanks for looking!

Blitzen Paper

Here are two samples using the same sketch. I used Basic Grey Blitzen paper. In both samples, I used my swirls cuttlebug to emboss and sponged CTMH crystal blue ink over the embossing for a soft look. I tied each with some SU organdy white ribbon and highlighted areas with my PSX glitter glue.
In this card, I used the retro ornament stamp from Stampendous, I colored in parts with my copics and highlighted some areas with my PSX glitter glue. I rounded the corners of the matting and cuttlebugged some snowflakes in crystal blue cardstock.

This card uses the Doodle Happy Holidays and Max Wheels stamps. In this sample, I just turned the sketch over so the card opens on the side. I colored Max with copics. The matted circle is cuttlebugged. These aren't colors I use very often so it was a little challenging. Pin It Now!

Blog Winner Alert

First, thanks to everyone for all of your comments regarding baby food jars. I will post (eventually) what I decide to do with them. But, without further ado here are the winners:
First prize: Clearly Inspired (ironic since she just emailed me about copics)
Second Prize: Peggy Maier
Third Prize: Ljsbeer

Please email me with your snail mail and I will mail your prizes out to you. I'll be posting later today with some new projects. Just a lot going on, but I wanted to post the winners. That's a pet peeve, when bloggers post winners days after the day they said they would and then you're checking back every day to make sure you didn't miss out...Anyway, my husband had a blowout in his Excursion on the way to work, I had to take my baby to the Pediatrician because his eczema is pretty bad and later I have to take my car to be painted because some blind as a bat lady hit (my parked car!) in the Gymboree parking lot and I'm going to my first SU stamp club meeting tonight.
But I will post a creation tonight (sometime!) Be sure to check back because I will have another blog candy on Friday! Pin It Now!

Fall is Here

Hello everyone. Well I have a couple more cards to share with you today.
This first card is for a sketch challenge found here. The stamp set is from My Favorite Things. I love these stamps! They are acrylic and a little bit different from stamps I have already. I used my copics to color these in. Copics are expensive but they are really fabulous. I got mine from Ellen Hutson. She had a Friday the 13th sale and they were 13% off. Eclectic Paperie actually has copics on sale and their shipping is really reasonable. I bought the sketch ones but they have the other styles too. I bought mine a la carte. Meaning I didn't buy any of the sets just the pens that I needed to get me started. That might be an economical way for you all out there to get your hands on some copics.

I used a retired CTMH paper pack - I think it's called Old Fashioned Christmas or something like that. I used my new MFT stamp set Let's Hear it for the Boys. I paper pieced the rug. The ribbon is from WE R Memory Keepers. In this sample. I used my copics as well as my Prismacolor pencils and blended with mineral spirits. If you don't have Prismacolors, get some! I know they are pricey as well. But I waited for a coupon from my LSS. I took my 50% coupon from Jo-Ann and took it to Michaels. They did not have them on sale and I was able to use my coupon. I bought the 48 pencil set which was 60 bucks. I got them for 30 dollars and it also came with a free set of 12 pencils too! So be patient and you can get them for really reasonable.

And Yes I have a third card to show you! The above two cards used the same sketch. It's for a card contest found here. I used all CTMH products for this sketch. I used Rough and Tumble paper pack and the Little Builder Acrylix stamp set. I think what has really helped my stamping is not being confined to one stamp company! When I was an SU demo I felt like I could only use SU product and the same with CTMH. But all of you wonderful bloggers have really opened my eyes up to all of the wonderful paper and stamps out there! Now, while I do love CTMH and SU, I have lots of new favorite stamp companies out there and it's ok to use non CTMH stuff to create! It's all fun and wonderful and it's really given me the freedom to make projects that I really love!

Now don't forget this is the last day to post a comment for the Friday blog candy, found below!

Fall Crazy

I have tons of beautiful fall cards to share with you guys this week. I'm trying to win some challenges and I just love the stamps that I'm using this week. I try my best to use up all of a sheet of DP so you will see a lot of the same paper in the cards this week. Let me know what you think? I'm especially proud of the cards I made this week. I look back at some of the cards I made at the beginning of my blog and I'm really surprised by how much I'm improving. I'll discuss more about why I think that is as the week goes on.

The stamp is from American Art Stamps. I love that I'm finally using these stamps! If you ever got to a stamping convention, they usually sell these for half price as unmounteds. The paper is from Creative Imaginations and the cardstock is CTMH. I used my copics to color these in.

Does anyone remember this stamp set? It's SU's Halloween Hedgehogs from the 2002 mini catalog! Many moon ago, I had a two bedroom condo and used my spare bedroom as a craft room. Then I met my husband. When he and his two children moved in, I had to put 95% of my craft stuff in storage, the rest was hidden in closets and under the bed, but that's another story. So we finally moved into our house in March and I found all of these hidden treasures after 4 years! I thought about selling this set on ebay but found it was going for nothing so I kept both my hedgehog sets and all of my penguin sets and I'm glad I did because how cute are they? The ribbon is Halloween ribbon from Michaels. They had it for 1.00. It was brand new and didn't ring up right but they honored their sign! They have some really nice fall ribbon you might want to check it out!

Don't forget to comment if you haven't already on the blog candy post below. I will be posting all kinds of fall things so don't forget to check back!

Blog Candy Fun!

Happy Friday everyone! I have some more wonderful blog candy. I had so much giving away 3 prizes that I think I will do it one more time. It will work the same as last time. The prizes are listed in order and the first 3 numbers random.org picks will win these prizes in order. For example prize one is Karen Foster Snap stamps in mini formal! If you are the first number picked you will win this wonderful prize. They are so cool and you can't find them anywhere. I just happen to have two of them!
The second prize is a wonderful CTMH stamp set called Summertime. It was the June stamp of the month so it's no longer available. Great for cardmaking and scrapbooking that summer event.
Last but not least is the current issue of Just Cards. A fabulous magazine that I bought twice! It's a 10 dollar magazine so I figure someone might enjoy it but wouldn't want to shell out big bucks for it.

All you have to do to win is to leave a comment on this post by midnight Tuesday. I will post the winners on Wednesay. I would love if anyone had any ideas on what to do craft wise with baby food jars - I'm starting to collect a ton of them! I'm going to decorate some as thank you gifts for guests to my son's birthday party next month but other than that?

Now onto a card. I actually have quite a few cards made but none of them are colored in. They're made and stamped, I made a lot doing it this way and then will color all of the images at once so hopefully I'll be posting some cool stuff. I'm participating in a lot of challenges this week! But here's one using this Christmas slab of paper, Fluffles stamp by Stampendous and CTMH organdy ribbon.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! Pin It Now!

New Amuse and candy winners

I am in an Amuse swap and decided to do double duty and do a Christmas card for Tracy's blog challenge.

I used the Holiday Stamp from Amuse and two random pieces of X-mas paper that I got from Michaels. The ribbon is CTMH. I don't know if you can tell from the pic but I used 3D puff paint for snow. This is a 4.5 x 4.5 sized card.

Now to the winners:

# 4 ScrappinTrish

#16 Debbie Dee

#15 Mum-on-the-run

I enjoyed reading everyone's kind comments and this contest was lots of fun. Winners please email me your snail mail and I'll mail your prizes out tomorrow! Check back on Friday and I will have even more blog candy. I think that I'll keep doing blog candy until I offically go back to work after Labor Day! Thanks for playing!

Weekend Sketch Card

Such a busy weekend! My 11 month old started at daycare today. It was terrible. He cried and cried and cried! I finally had to leave, I hope that he didn't cry the whole day!

Well here is a card that I did for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I used some paper I had picked up from my LSS, I don't know the name. The stamp set is Happy Haunting from CTMH. I used my Prismascolor pencils and copics to color it in. The web is white embossed!

Don't forget blog candy. There is still time to enter! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Pin It Now!

More Halloween and a RAK

I just received a wonderful RAK from Patty Jo, she won a blog candy. She included a lovely note. I'm so glad that you liked your candy!
Here is her RAK:

I'm still making Halloween cards! I'm having lots of fun with My Favorite Things stamp set...I wanted to make 3 different Halloween cards. So this is my second:

The side got a little bit cropped. In real life it's all even. I used the MFT Elements and Fright Night stamp sets and the dots are from my Circle borders set from Paper Trey Ink. I used my slit punch on the Junkitz paper to create the scallops. I used copics to color the trick or treaters.

I think for my third Halloween card, I'll try my one CTMH set. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend.

I also was nominated for the Nice Matters Award by Cheryl. Isn't that nice? So I have to nominate 5 other people. I nominate Allison, Gina K, Corie, Patty Jo and Kim. Now you have to nominate 5 other people and display this banner for all to see. Just right click and save the banner!

Thanks Cheryl for the honor!

2 in 1 challenges

I think that all I ever do now are challenges but they are really fun! This first card is for Beate's weekend challenge. I used some old CTMH Halloween paper and my new MFT stamp set Fright Night.

Sorry it's so blurry! I took like 5 pics and these pics just came out blurry! The second card is for a 2 in 1 challenge. I was supposed to use the same stamp but in a different way. So in this next card, I used the same stamp but I made a tent card and I used Junkitz Halloween paper.

Remember blog candy - you can post until Tuesday evening. Even if you don't have a new site to add, please feel free to leave a comment! Pin It Now!

CASE'ing the catty

Here is a card that I made for a CASEing the catalog challenge. It could be any company. This card is from Pg. 52 of the Autumn catty. It's exact except I had to improvise on the ribbon. I didn't have that exact ribbon. I thought I did but I didn't. Oh well. I think that it still looks pretty close!

Need time to stamp!

Well, I thought that I would get a lot of stamping done but I didn't. My baby didn't want to take a nap and I finally located 3 boxes of craft stuff in our garage. It had been in storage for almost 4 years! It was mostly SU stuff but I had to sort through that. I looked at ebay to see if selling some of it would be worth my while but they are going for so little that I would rather keep them and maybe even use them. Since I hadn't seen them for so long they are like new stamps to me!

This is a tent card that I made for a challenge. I hope to have time to make a few more. The dimensions are 4.5 x 4.5. I you do your tent piece right, this card will fit in a standard envelope. I used the colors chocolate and hollyhock and the More to Adore paper and the stamp set is Because I love You. I'm just excited that I finally got ink on it!

I did one scrapbook page - it's for the August Cherish challenge on CTMH Friends Yahoo group. Cherish is my absolutely favorite scrapbooking tool. It's a great book with scrapbook layouts but what makes it really unique is that it gives you the cutting diagrams as well. It really makes every scrapbook page look professional. I can't wait to get the newest book Imagine!
I used an old level 1 kit I have, can't even remember what the name of it is! But I'm just glad that I finally used up some of it!

Pink and Black

I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I didn't get a lot of time to craft this weekend but I did make a scrapbook layout for a challenge and a tent card which I hope to load onto my computer today and post soon. In the meantime here are two cards that I did last week.
This card uses the Stylin' paper pack from CTMH. The colors are hollyhock and black. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the black piece.

This is the same card, except I used one of my stick ladies stamps. This is a Karen Stolper stamp from American Art Stamps. I picked up a ton of these the last two years at the Rubber Stamp Convention and have finally inked up a couple. I also used stickles on the trim of her dress.
Don't forget blog candy! You have until Tuesday to enter and then I will be posting more candy on Friday!

Blog Candy Friday

Well here is so more blog candy up for grabs for Friday. All you have to do is post a comment on this post and I will use the random generator to pick a winner on Wednesday. In this candy, there is over 75 full sheets of 12x12 paper, there are stickers and a really cool tool I picked up at a stamp convention and never used - it's an eyelet setter that does not need a hammer.
Here are two cards using the last of this designer paper and this color combination. I was able to make 7 cards using 1 12x12 sheet of background paper. The bottom card is a 3x3 card. All others are standard sized.
