The winner is Blue Moon! Please email me with your address!

I have been trying to get organized in my impossibly small crafting corner. I just bought a Rubber Maid 4 drawer bin and spent last night putting ribbon and other embellishments in it. I hope to finish up organizing by this weekend. I did create a very cute card box and some cards but I haven't had a chance to take pictures of it yet. So in the meantime, I have another stamp camp card to share with you.

I have no idea what stamps we used but all stamps and papers are SU. We used the Guava carousel notes and SU has a brass template that fits these notes perfectly which is what we used to do all of the holes that you see. We watercolored the images and used SU's water color paper which I had never used before. I think it's a very pretty card. Hope to post something new tomorrow but be sure to check back for a special two week heart candy!

She's All That

I went to my SU stamp camp last week and this is one of the cards we made.

I apologize if the picture looks dark. All cardstock, stamps and supplies are SU. The image is stamped in Gray to match the cardstock. We used the chunky glitter to bling out her dress. The stamp set is called She's All That. The grey cardstock has some subtle background stamping from the Petals and ? stamp set. I can't remember the entire name of the set but it looks very nice IRL. The chunky glitter tends to stick everywhere though!

Remember to comment on the heart candy post to win some yummy blog candy. See you all tomorrow with the winner!

Spring Flowers

I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. It was hot, hot, hot here in Southern California. I thought April showers were supposed to bring May Flowers? Haven't seen a sign of rain here! Above, I have two cards to show you. They are both very similar with just a couple of subtle differences. The paper is from CTMH and the stamp is American Art Stamps - the line by Karen Stolper. The sentiment is Paper Trey Ink. The pink ribbon is from SU and I finally used my swiss dots embossing folder for my cuttlebug. The layout is from Sheetload of cards. I changed up the layout a little bit in terms of size. The original size called for a much smaller image, more like a sentiment but I wanted to be able to use a bigger stamp.

I should go to bed. It's 10:30 here and I got to get up at 5:00am to go to work so I will talk to you all soon. Don't forget blog candy is available on the post below!

Cuttlebug Flowers and Summer Heart Candy

Here is a card that I made to submit to the Paper Trey Ink site. I used the stamp set Women of Life and the new April paper pack. I used my cuttlebug flower set along with lightweight coasters to make the flowers. The ribbon is May Arts because I hadn't gotten my Paper Trey Ink order yet with the new ribbon. The stems were stamped with Aqua Mist ink. I really like the way it came out.

This week's heart candy is a Fiskars acrylic stamp set - the name escapes me but it's a brand new stamp set with summer images. To win is easy, just leave a comment on this post by midnight Tuesday and I will select a winner on Wednesday, April 30. If you'd like you can answer this question, are you a cardmaker, a scrapbooker or both? Also, do you use up your scraps? or do you, gasp, throw them away? I am starting to get overloaded with scraps, some are easy to use up but others I'm just not sure what to do with! I am working on lots of cards so I hope to upload some new projects soon! Enjoy your Friday!

The winner of the star stamp set is Diane S - she was listed as anonymous. Please email me with your address by Saturday to claim your prize!

Thanks for your kind words regarding my son being bitten. Hopefully, these kids will grow out of it.

Anyhow, I have been working on using up some of my older paper packs. The two projects I have to show you today came from the CTMH Rough and Tumble paper pack. What is really cool about these paper packs is that they not only have like 6 sheets of different dp but also cardstock that matches as well as a matching sticker sheet. They are designed for scrapbooking but work great for cardmaking too. Basically, I had enough paper left in this pack to make a 2 page 12x12 scrapbook layout (I haven't put pictures in it yet) and 11 cards! Those who are regulars to my blog will recognize this paper pack and know that I have put it to good use and have gotten a ton of projects out of it.

The only stamping that was done on this card is the "Enjoy the Moment" which came from Paper Trey Ink's Mixed Messages stamp set. Otherwise, I just used the stickers that came with the paper pack. Very easy and fun cards for little boys. I am still working on the other 9 cards - I still have some stamping and embellishments left to do so I hope to show you those soon. More heart candy on Friday so stay tuned!

Christmas? in April?

I really wanted to do one of the Cat's Pajamas challenges but the only Cat's Pajamas stamps I have are Christmas. This week it's a sketch challenge hosted here. The stamp set is Kitty Christmas and the paper is Reminince. I used Bella Baubles, a flower from my stash and my nestabilities. I colored kitty using my copic markers and on the candy cane I used my candy cane stickles. The card size is 81/2 x 4.

Don't forget to comment on the post below for blog candy!

Star Heart Candy

Here is what you are playing for, another fun stamp set from Inque Boutique. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by midnight, Tuesday, April 22 and I will choose a winner randomly on Wednesday morning.

Thanks Melissa for your advice regarding the "biters" at my son's daycare. I do get incident reports. If it happens again, my husband and I will be talking to the director because we plan on sending our new baby to the same place and we don't want her to get bitten either! My son went through a very short hitting phase but other than that, he doesn't hit or bite or scratch or any of that stuff. We of course don't get to find out who the culprit is, but I do know that he did get bitten once by my stepdaughter's math teacher's little girl. I know kids grow out of this stuff but I just don't want my son to have to get bitten in the meantime!

Anyway, enjoy your Friday and your weekend! Talk to you soon.

Pretty in Purple

I have a card to share with you all. It's a card I made for a challenge that can be found here.
Doesn't scream spring? The paper is from CTMH and the sentiment is SU. The ribbon is American Crafts and seems to match perfectly. The hardware is WER Memory Keepers and the flower is from Prima. The pearl in the center of the flower is from Target 1.00 spot. I should have bought more, what a bargain! I made the card for a challenge but I really love how it came out so it's definitely going in my "thank you card" stash.

I have a question, what is up with all the little kids who bite? My son is 18 months old and he has been bitten no less than 8 times. He probably was bitten about 7 times when he was in the infant room and he has not even been with toddlers a month and he has gotten bitten. And this bite was a good one. You can still see it almost a week later! I know the other kids get frustrated because if they want a toy that he has, they can't get it away from him, he is very big and strong for his age. He's the same size as the 2 and 21/2 year olds but still it's very aggravating. Then today, he apparently fell down and has this mean old split lip! My poor baby is just getting beat up!

Well, hopefully no more mishaps for him this week. Don't forget to visit me tomorrow for some more heart candy!

Is it Friday Yet?

Some weeks just go by very slowly. I can't believe that it's only Tuesday! I went to the Dr. yesterday and everything is well with the baby. I've only got 7 more weeks to go. I still look pretty small, most people are surprised that I'm 8 months pregnant. I think that if I was any bigger, I wouldn't be able to keep up with my Tyler. I am experiencing a lot of lower ligament pain. I had it with Tyler too so I try not to sit for too long which is hard when you're a librarian and on the computer all day! Here is a fun card - the stamps are papers are all CTMH. It's a tall card, which is a different size for me. She looks like she's going to a garden party or to afternoon tea.

Remember, I pick the winner for the blog candy tomorrow and then of course more heart candy on Friday!

Busy weekend...

Hi everyone, I can't believe how fast the weekend went by. Saturday was spent running some errands. We did go to this little pond by our house and fed the ducks. The baby absolutely loved it. Got some very cute photos. Today, I took Tyler to my parents house and he went swimming. I have to apologize for those who are still freezing but it was 95 degrees here this weekend!

I have been scrapbooking a lot. Here are some of my layouts.

Here is one page of a two page layout. I think that it's very cute. The layout was inspired by the Sisterhood of Scrap which is having a week of challenges.

Here is another 2 page layout. I don't have the second page up - it's just his little class picture. I absolutely love this picture of my son.

Here is the first of two Christmas layouts. This is Christmas at our home.

This is the second Christmas layout which was Christmas at my parents house later that day.

I started making some baby thank you cards. The first one I made I did not like. My coloring came out terrible.

So I went back to the drawing board. Same layout but I recolored my stork who now looks like this:

A lot softer look. The card size is notecard size - I think it's 41/2 by 31/4. I used a stamp set designed by Anna Wight from Whipper Snapper stamps. The paper is Cosmo Cricket. I hope that everyone enjoys their Monday.

Don't forget you still have time to comment for my blog candy, see the post below.

StampinC you've won the Candy!

Place contact me via email asap so that I can get this fabulous candy out to you. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. I'm going to look at all the stamp sets and companies you've suggested. Also, thank you for your kind comments regarding my scrapbooking pages. Right now I've been trying to scrapbook everything recent and get at least caught up with that before the new baby comes. I also have been making some cards so I'll be posting something new tomorrow. I need to start making thank you cards and baby announcements so I'm ready when my new baby gets here.

For those of you who do scrapbook, I really recommend CTMH's layout books - they have 3 and I use them a lot! They are called Cherish (now available at Michaels - use your coupon for 40% off), Imagine and Reflections. They give you a beautiful color sample, along with cutting directions. For example, they tell you how many sheets of dp and cardstock you need and the directions for how to cut the paper to recreate the layout. These books are also very well suited for SU products. My scrapbooking is not fancy. I want it to look nice but I'm very linear, I think collage and artsy scrapbooking is quite beautiful but doesn't suit me. I want my pages to be full of pictures and to tell the story of the event.

Be sure to check back on Friday when I will be posting some new heart candy! Thanks everyone for playing this week!

Scrapbooking Fool

At this rate, I might actually get caught up! Here is another layout which will be for my son's next book. We went to this Farm celebrating the fall harvest with my sister and husband last October. I still have to add a small journaling block. I just forgot to add it before I took the picture.

I have still been working on creating cards from my new PTI stuff. I just really like these colors. They are just so yummy.

Papers, ribbon and stamps are Paper Trey Ink. I used my SU slit punch for the scallop edge and the scallop ovals were made by my nestabilities.
Happy Monday!

Shameless Plug

Can you guys vote for my layout? I want to win some blog candy at dragonflytime.typepad.com. On the side you will see my layout so if you guys could vote for me I would appreciate it.

I used the CTMH Heart of Winter incentive paper Serendipity. This layout is for my family scrapbook.

This card uses the CTMH paper pack Expedition and the stamp set In the Wild. You probably could use a Changito (which I have!) and get a similar look.
Don't forget to leave a comment for the blog candy listed below and thanks in advance for voting for me!

Sweet Heart Candy!

Happy Friday everyone! I am so excited to bring you this sweet heart candy this week.

It's the new 6x6 paper pad by Basic Grey called Sugared. Can you believe that I have had this for a week and haven't opened it up to play with it yet? I've actually been doing some scrapbooking. To win is easy, leave a comment on this post by Tuesday midnight and I will select a winner on Wednesday morning using Random.org. I am looking for good sentiment stamp sets, the kind that you can put on the inside of a card. If you have any good ideas let me know. I already have everything by SU and CTMH or let me know what your favorite set right now is.

As I was saying, I've been off this week and today is my last official day of spring vacation. It went by so fast. I spent most of the week organizing and doing some scrapbooking. I even accomplished one of my New Year's goals, to finish my son's 1st year album and I finally did it. So I will leave you with some of the layouts I completed this week.
