After Christmas Crafting Series #1

Hi everyone,
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday! Did anyone get anything crafty for Christmas? I buy my own crafting presents but I did get a year of cleaning from my parents so that is seriously the best present. My sister got me an air fryer and that thing has already changed my life!

I am spending my New Years Eve getting caught up on crafty projects and getting caught up on my DVR because it's full!

Today, I am sharing my new series which I am calling the After Christmas Crafting series. This series is all about using Christmas papers, stamps and products into the New Year before I finally put it all away. I hope that you enjoy the inspiration!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 25

Merry Christmas!
I made it! I posted 25 Days in a row. I was looking back at my blog and I think that this is the 7th year that I have done my 25 Days of Christmas. I hope that everyone had a wonderful day whether you celebrate or not. My children were with their father so it was a bit bittersweet. I did speak to them and spent the morning at my parents house with my siblings and their spouses and children watching them open presents so that was fun. Tomorrow the kids come home and we will go back to the parents house and they will open their presents.

I was able to finish my video for the day as I worked on my favorite 10 crafty things of the year. I have really enjoyed posting this month and I hope to continue posting. I would love for you to subscribe here to my blog or to my YouTube channel as I have made a goal of getting readership up on both. My son is totally into stats and YouTube stats so he is helping me keep track of my stats. I never pay attention to that but he is all over it which is kind of funny.

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a 25.00 giftcard to the craft store of your choice. I would love to hear your favorite crafty thing of the year.

Today, the kids and I are going to Beni Hana for lunch and then will probably spend the day watching some favorite Christmas movies. They are partial to Elf and Home Alone. Today, I am sharing some Christmas cards using Neat and Tangled's Yeti set. I feel like it was the year of the Yeti because everyone came out with a Yeti set but this one
is super cute.

25 Days of Christmas Day 15

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 15. This going to be a quick post because it is past my bedtime. Today's project is a cute little Hello Kitty snowglobe card for Lily's teacher. You will also see me struggle with my ATG gun which now I am thinking it might be that vs the tape. I have had it forever and have abused it quite a bit. I think it may not be latching to hold onto the tape. Anyway, enjoy the video and be sure to leave comments on each of my countdown post and YouTube videos for a chance to win my giveaway.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 9

Hi everyone, Thanks so much for stopping by for Day 9 which I think is the most important day of the whole Christmas planning process and that is the photo card. I have done it both ways over the years, made my own and pre-purchased photo cards. The problem with the ones that you buy is that they are flat and are so hard to display. This year I decided to used the Sizzix Thinlits foldalongs Gingerbread house die by Jen Long. I think that it came out so cute. The video is a bit long but I do take you through making one of these cards.

I hope that you liked my project. Thanks so much for visiting!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 7

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 7 of the my 25 Days counting down to Christmas. Today's project is another card. I am VERY behind on holiday card making. I probably only have a tenth of the cards that I need to make. I would estimate that I need to make about 50 cards minimum to get by and I probably only have about 12 cards made. Yikes. I better get on it.

Today's card uses the Cricut digital cartridge Cozy Christmas and it features traditional Disney images - think Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Pluto. I love this cartridge and hope to make a few more cards from it. The card today uses some glitter paper from Cricut which I will be honest I do not like!!! I made an assumption that this paper would be great to cut using my Cricut but it's absolutely horrible. Way too thick and I actually have to set it on poster board to get it to cut all the way through. The glitter doesn't shed which is nice but I cannot recommend this paper. It was a nightmare to work with. Unfortunately, I have whole think of it and so I will be trying to use it with my Christmas cards so that I can get it all used up!
Here is my project today:

25 Days of Christmas - Day 5

Hello!
Welcome to Day 5 of the 25 Days of Christmas. This has been a little bit of a stressful day and I didn't know if I would get this post up on time as I am honestly working on these posts right before I go to bed. Hopefully, I will have some time this weekend to get a bit ahead. Until then, I am flying by the seat of my pants.

Today's project is a crafty and inexpensive gift idea, altered notebooks. You can make these as simple or as elaborate as you wish. They are super useful but by simply covering them with pretty paper and doing a little embellishing, they can become something very special.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 4

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 4 of the 25 Days of Christmas. This is a quick post because my kids give me no time to craft or even post on my blog so this is literally being typed at 10:26pm. Anyhow, today we saw Wonder which was wonderful. My kids really enjoyed it and I was glad that I got to take them to such a lovely movie. My dad also came over and has we all worked on some landscaping which my house has not seen probably ever. So onto the projects today. I have some cards from the Very Merry Christmas from Carta Bella. These are my last projects from this paper stack, even though I have the 6x6 paper pad because this paper is just so darn cute. But what destashing has taught me is that hoarding is a bad thing!

Thanks so much for visiting me today. See you tomorrow!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 3

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 3 of the 25 Days of Christmas. Today, I am taking Lily to Michaels,  they have a unicorn slime event. This darn slime fad has gone on way too long in my opinion. Then we are all going to a Christmas party so it should be a fun day.

Today's project is a Christmas album. I will admit that I never put pictures in my album from last year but I plan on doing that very soon and sharing the completed album. Being on deadline for this blog project is getting me to finish some works in progress. The album uses paper from Carta Bella Very Merry Christmas. This paper really is super cute and retro. I have a video for you all with a super quick walkthrough of the album. If all goes well, I will show some of  the album later this month with pictures.
I also have a new Christmas gift list today. This is for the crafty person in your life. I will be sharing a My Favorite Things post later in the month so there might be some crossover.

The first item on my list is the most expensive but I so want this machine and its the Cricut Maker. It can cut almost any material around. If the Cricut Maker seems to be more machine then you can handle, I recommend the Cricut Air 2 which I have and I do love it but to be able to cut patterns and fabric is really awesome.
My second item is The Misti. I have the mini Misti which is about 20 bucks cheaper than the larger one. There has only been a handful of times that I wished that I had the bigger one so in most cases that mini one is perfect for most of your stamping needs. I know that there are knockoffs but this was the first and the one that I have. It really improves your stamping, less mistakes, less waste, it makes it easier to stamp a lot of the same image.
My third item is the 1-2-3 Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers. It was hard to select just one product from this company because they really have tons but this punch board allows you to make envelopes, bows, boxes and tons more so for the price you really get a lot. There are quite a few tutorials too on other things that you can use this for including making tabs.

I think a portable printer is awesome. I have the Pogo printer but it looks like that one is not available any longer but here is one that seems fairly popular. It's the HP Sprocket.

Next up is the Zig Clean Color Watercolor markers by Kuretake. These are a tiny bit of a splurge but they work as a watercolor medium but without water they do nicely as a regular marker.
I really want this next one too because I do make t-shirts. I just don't know if I make enough stuff but if the price comes down I am all in and that's the Easy Press by Provo craft. I really like the small profile and it looks easy to store.
Be sure to stay tune for my video on my favorite things. Where I share other crafty finds that would make great gifts for you or someone else in your life.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 2

Hi everyone,
So proud of myself! I have posted two days in a row. Today, I am sharing tags made using the Carta Bella Very Merry Christmas. I was inspired by May over at May May Made It on Youtube. She has an entire series on using up a paper pack. This is probably the first time I have ever used up an entire sheet of stickers.

I actually used all of these for presents which are currently in hiding throughout my house. I do need some more tags and will be having another post at some point on other tags. Be sure to watch the video to hear me ramble about these tags!
I also have Gift Ideas for the book lover on your list!

First up, is this wonderful book by the same people who do the Flow Book for Paper Lovers. It's all about creative mindfulness with lots of prompts, activities, readings and lovely paper. I am actually gifting this book to a friend here at work.
Next up is the newest cookbook from The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. Her cookbooks are wonderful, with tons of color pictures and step by step directions. Really, I wish all cookbooks were put together like this. Even better, they are recipes that regular people might actually eat.
I have two books up for suspense fans which would be great to gift. The first is Dan Brown's Origin. His Robert Langdon books are fast paced and creative.
The next book was a surprise read, Girl on a Train. The novel is full of suspense and is a super quick but enjoyable read.
I can't leave  this list without an e-reader. I think the best readers are the ones from Amazon. I also think that the Kindle is the way to go because it's the best of both worlds. You can read ebooks as well as play games, watch movies and surf the Internet. The price is also a fraction of an IPAD.

Products from Out of Print Clothing. This is an online store (www.outofprintclothing.com) and it has amazing items for book lovers. A friend gifted me this fabulous shirt! They also have book themed pouches, socks and more. I have the banned books socks by the way and I love wearing them in the library during banned books week. For those that don't know, I am a librarian.

I hope that this list gives you something to think about!
