Happy Halloween 2009

Happy Halloween! I love when I get to use the fun stamps that I have in my stash! This stamp is witchy bella. She is paper pieced and colored with copics. The paper is Cast a Spell from SU. I really like this paper partly because the purple really stands out so nicely!

I plan on taking the babies trick or treating in my parent's neighborhood. It's not far at all from my house and they love seeing the kids all dressed up. I'm hoping that my sister will bring her baby over too so the kids can go out together but she lives literally in the back yard of Knott's and so the traffic is just unbelievable! I hope that everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Blog candy is back!

Sorry I missed posting a Friday candy but I was so sick! I left work sick with laryngitis and a low grade fever and it took me a couple of days to recover. Here is this week's candy. Just leave a comment on this post telling me what your weekend plans are and I will choose a winner on Wednesday. We are taking the kids to my moms and meeting up with sister and her daughter. We're planning on eating pizza and then taking the kids trick or treating, should be fun!

Totally Witchin'

Today's card uses MFT's stamp set Totally Witchin'. I used SU's Nouveau Chic paper. The dresses are paperpieced and the rest of the witches are colored in with copics. I made my own embellishments by stamping 1/4 inch circles with my paperpunch. Halloween is soon! I'll be sure to post some pictures of my babies in their costumes. Tyler is going to be Buzz Lightyear and Lily is going to be the cutest Piglet!

Tea for Two Deux

Hi everyone, here is a card that I made to send to my cousin. We love tea and I just love this cute MFT stamp set Tea for Two. The papers and ribbon are SU from last year's SAB. I have tons of it left. Luckily, I really like the paper. I think that I need to make a mini book or something with it to use it up. The mouse is propped up with dimensionals and colored with copics and the tea cup is paper pieced. Anyway, I hope that everyone is having a good day.

Rainy Day Friends

Sorry that the picture is so blurry. Today's card is this cute MFT stamp set Rainy Day Friends. The paper is I think Heidi Grace and the cardstock is Bravo Burgundy from SU. I paperpieced the raincoat and umbrella. I cut out the middle part of the raincoat so that her head would peak through. The rest of the girl is colored in with copics. I think it's super cute, I just wish that it wasn't so blurry!

Tea for Two

Today's card uses MFT's Tea for Two stamp set. I just love anything that has to do with Afternoon Tea. I went to afternoon tea for the first time while on vacation with my cousin in New Orleans in 1998 and having been going every since. It's so relaxing, and the treats are yummy. I paperpieced the cup using Bella Rose DP and colored my mouse in with copics. The layout is a MFT sketch. I think it would be a fun card to send to my cousin inviting her to tea!

Wierd Weather

First of all, this week's winner is Jill W! Email me with your deets! I have just been so busy at work that I have been so tired but I have been working hard to bring you all of my Christmas decorating and card making and gift wrapping fun for my 25 days of Christmas which starts December 1.

The weather here has been amazing! We had rain for a day and now it's like 78-80 degrees. Super wierd! It was 90 degrees last year on Halloween so I'm sort of hoping that it won't be that hot but I think that it will be nice again. I have pictures to load from my camera so I'll be sure to post the pics of the babies in their costumes. They looked so cute! Talk to you all soon.

Eastern Blooms with Thoroughly Modern

Today's card uses SU's Estern Blooms stamp set. I really like this stamp set because it's so quick and easy to use, and everything looks so elegant. It's nice not to have to color in every once in awhile. The cardstock base is kraft which I find myself going to more and more. The dp is Thoroughly Modern. I think it's a simple but pretty card.

For the birds

I made this cute little card for my mom's birthday. She loved it! I used rasberry tart DP and this super cute button stamp set from Paper Trey Ink. The buttons are from my stash. I also used SU's top note die and trimmed the white so that it could be layered with the regal rose. The sentiment is from MFT. I colored the eye of my bird using my black gel pen. I can't wait to try out more button options!

This is what I came up with. The dp is SU's Thoroughly Modern with a kraft base. The stamp set is CTMH called Welcome Home. The pillows are paper pieced and the colors are suede and taken with teal. The button is also SU and tied with twine. I think it came out cute!

Boo to You!

This card uses the stamp set Spooked from Lizzie Ann Designs. So easy to use. The dp is Cast a Spell from SU. I really like the colors in this paper. I know that Halloween is coming! What are your kids/grandkids going to be for Halloween? I'm still needing ideas for my little ones. Lily is pretty easy but Tyler?

Just My Style

This is a fun card that I made for a Lizze Ann stamps challenge. The card use the Just My Style stamp set which I actually won as blog candy. I paperpieced the chair with SU DP. The stamp set was not designed to be Halloween but I tried to make it more fall with the spider and paper. Trying to get the most out of your stamps is always nice.

Pumpkin Occasions

Today's card uses MFT's Occasions stamp set, dusty durango and plum ink from SU. The purple paper is Bazill from my stash and the DP is I think Fiskars - I have had it in my stash forever. It felt good to use it. The ribbon is from Taylored Expressions. I stamped the pumpkin a second time on scrap paper and cut it out and put it over my original image with dimensionals. Really made it pop.

Boo!

This stamp is from a retired SU stamp set, I think is called Autumn Apparitions. The dp is again Cast a Spell. It's funny, I' ve used this a lot in the last couple of days, but every card looks very different, this really is a great paper. The button embellishment was made by taking twine through the button holes and using it to tie the piece of ribbon to the front of the button. Another inexpensive and easy embellishment.

Winner!

Nikki you are this week's winner! Please email me with your details. I am about a week behind on sending prizes so bear with me. It's been busy. Tyler's buzz lightyear costume came yesterday and it's so cool! It lights up! My mom also bought him the light up goggles so he's going to be all set. This week it even feels a bit like fall. It went from a 100 last week to 70 this week, wierd California weather! I hope that everyone is well! I've got a lot of things on autopost because I've been so busy but I've started working on some Christmas stuff that I can't wait to share with you!

Bubble, bubble

This is what I did with the circle I had leftover from yesterday's card. I made this card using Totally Witchin' from MFT. This is the cauldron and spider stamps. Now that I'm looking at it, it looks a bit like a fishbowl. The dp is cast a spell from dp and black cardstock. The button is from my stash and the ribbon is from Taylored Expressions. Are you feeling the Halloween spirit yet?

You Rock

Here's another card using the same elements as my previous card...Just Jawing stamp set from SU and Cast a Spell DP. However, I used a different pattern of paper and black stickles for the eyes. To make the circle, I used two sizes of nestabilities. I also cut the skull out which really makes it pop on this black dp. If Lily wasn't asleep in my room when I was making this card, I would've embossed the sentiment.

Just Jawing & blog candy

Today's candy is this acrylix stamp set script. To win just leave a comment and I will select a winner using random.org on Wednesday.

I have had this SU Just Jawing set since last year and this is the first time I've used it. I don't know why, it's so cute and easy to use. This card uses the Cast a Spell DP. The image is stamped on white cardstock with black ink and the eyes are colored with copics. The circle embellishments are made using a circle punch and a black brad. Such an easy technique to make your own inexpensive embellishments. A quick, easy and fun card!
