Photo Shoot

I tried to save some money this year by having my own "photo shoot" for my holiday picture this year. I just thought what a hassle it would be to try and get these two to stay still at a studio and then I spend a LOT of money when I take them to get their pictures done. So I put them in some nice clothes and took some pictures. I'm sharing them with you today. The 3rd pic down is the one I ended up using.
I hope that you all have a wonderful New Year! I will be taking a little time off from the blog to spend time with my family and basically relax. I will be back on Wednesday, January 7 with some really fabulous heart candy (aka blog candy!). So I hope to see you all then!

Day 25 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Merry Christmas! This is the last day of the my little holiday blitz. Thank you all for visiting and sharing with me. All of the projects that you've seen are things that I actually really used as gifts or as holiday cards this holiday season. The top project is a giftcard holder. I actually saw this idea on a couple of blogs. I think it might've been at andreawalford.com that I saw it first. But anyway, it was super easy, you create a card using the top note die, you make a second top note die cut and cut it in half to make a pocket on the inside where you slip your giftcard. It's blank because it's where I plan on writing there. I decorated the front with holidays treasures DP, a felt flurry, rhinestone brad and some ribbon from my stash.

This is a money holder. I got the template from Patty Bennett. I used the Frosty Day DP and bashful blue cardstock. The stamp is from Stamp a Sweet Impression and the felt flurries and ribbon are SU.

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday!

Day 24 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Happy Christmas Eve! My mom is cooking a big dinner tonight. I look forward to it all year long - turkey and ham, chestnut stuffing (a family recipe!), mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, YUMMY! Above is a small gift that I made for my sister's baby, due any day now. I used the "nugget tins" that I have lots of and put in two pairs of baby socks and then used SU paper and the hostess set Deer Friends. I am putting this gift in a cute bag with a pink stuffed elephant.

Then I have bunches of tags that I made to put on my gifts. The top two pics are ones that I made using SU circle punches and scallop punch, the largest scallop was made with my nestabilities making sure not to cut the top part so that I can create a little card that opens when I can put the to and from. I used the same supplies as with my sock box. The bottom tags were made using pre-made tags that I had on hand and using Stamp a Sweet Impression stamps from Taylored Expressions.

Have a safe and happy day, see you tomorrow for the last day of the 25 Days of Christmas.

Day 23 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Here is a giftcard holder that Imade for my husband. He needed it for a gift card for his work party. I got the idea from Poetic Artistry. I used Frosty Day DP and the stamp set Mr. Twigster from SU. I also used large and small felt flurrys and used a rhinestone brad for the center. On the side panel, I stamped the Merry Christmas in chocolate from the curly label punch and used my favorite kiwi kiss ribbon. I wanted the giftcard to fit neatly into a standard envelope so I took the giftcard holder and mounted it onto a panel cut to standard card size and layered it with Frosty Day Dp and used chocolate ribbon to hold the holder shut. In the original template, a belly band was used but I chose to use ribbon instead. Now onto making giftcard holders for gifts I am giving out!

Day 22 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Here are a couple more easy 4x4 cards. I used riding hood red cardstock for the base and layered riding hood red dp to the top and used the scallop edge punch for the bottom. I tied some satin ribbon from my stash and attached this scallop tag that I made using circle and scallop punchs and the deer friends stamp set. I tied it to the satin ribbon using SU's silver cord. These cards were so simple to make but still cute!

Day 21 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Here are some easy last minute cards. When you're short on time, either break down and use pre-made cards (blasphemy! considering how much money I spend on craftings stuff) or resort to fast and easy! This a case from http://www.chicnscratch.typepad.com/. These are 4x4 cards and I used the Country Living stamp set but any snowflake stamp would work. I used all of the same color for each card. The scallop is a nestability and I used a Kaiser rhinestone for the center. Fast and easy!!! and still homemade! The top is baja blue, the middle is riding hood red and the bottom is kiwi kiss.

Day 20 of the 25 Days of Christmas

I made this fun giftset for some co-workers. The pail is Stampendous. I altered it with papers from SU's Holiday Treasures. The ribbon is SU kiwi kiss and the top is decorated with a felt flurry that I covered with tombow glue and dipped in glitter. The stamp in the middle is from Deer Friends, a level two stamp set. I filled it with decorated rice krispy treats from Target's Archer Farms. They are pre-packged so they will stay nice and fresh. The card matches, using the same paper and the stamp is also from Deer Friends.
Yesterday, was my last week of work for the next two weeks, yeah! I have been so busy trying to get all of my Christmas stuff done! My son fell and hit a table at school and bit his lower lip. He had to have stitches. Do you know how hard it is to give a two year old stitches? We were lucky enough to have a pediatric plastic surgeon do it and it's healing nicely but it was a very rough day!
Talk to you all soon.

Day 19 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Today is my last day of work for the year! Woo Hoo! I have a lot to do still but I really need a break! This is an ensemble that I created for the ladies at daycard who watch my kids. I altered a body butter jar and french milled soap from Michael's Dollar spot. I used the Stamp a Sweet Impression Holiday stamps from Taylored Expressions. The clear bag is stamped with white stazon and a snowflake stamp. I included some red and green peanut M&M's in a testtube. I tied the bag off with red and green ribbon and this tag, the inside just says, To & From. The paper used is Bo-Bunny, MFT and SU Riding Hood Red.

So if you have some time, be creative with simple gifts to give them that extra pizzazz!

Day 18 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Every year my stepdaughter asks me to make little gifts for her friends. This is the last year as she's a senior. I plan on putting everything in a little cello bag and tying it up with some cute ribbon. Included will be a mini rectangle coaster clipboard decorated in SU's Holiday Treasures or Frosty DP and a pen. A test tube filled with Peanut Holiday M&M's, tied up with a cute tag. The tag was made using Deer Friends and a tag that I made. I used up some scraps for this! I tied the tag to the test tubes using leftover silver cording from the Country Living Kit. I also made scallop ornaments using the scallop punch. I didn't have to buy and thing except some cello bags because I had everything on hand! Simple and fun projects I am sure the girls will enjoy.

Day 17 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Here are some more ornaments! I don't think that I realized how many ornaments I made this year! And my tree is super tiny! I have it on a corner sitting on an end table. It's only about 3 feet high because of the babies. I can just see Tyler (my 2 year old) knocking it down! These ornaments were made using the Country Living Kit. All of the pieces to make this are in the cute but you could duplicate it. Cover 1 piece of square chipboard (2x2) with dp front and back. Use a nestability scallop square and cut a piece of chipboard or coaster. Ink it up with craft white ink, put glue on top and then pour dazzling diamonds glitter over the glue and shake off excess. Place picture on your square chipboard and glue the scalloped piece over it. Use your cropadile to make a hole on top and tie your ribbon!

Our daycare takes professional school pictures twice a year and these are the kids' fall pictures. Aren't they cutie pies?

Day 16 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Here are some fun ornaments using the stamp set Merry and Bright. The ornaments were made using Ranger Memory frames and memory glass which I bought from Ellen Hutson's store. The DP is SU's Holiday Treasures. The images are colored with markers and then highlighted with matching colored stickles for sparkle. I tied a red satin ribbon on the top and hung these on my tree! These are so easy to do with these frames and glass, they look soldered but they're not! Enjoy!

The paper is white, gray and bashful blue and the stamp set is Stampin' Up's Merry and Bright. I stamped the images in black and the snowflakes are stamped in bashful blue. I colored in my images with markers and then used red stickles on the hat and scarf for fun sparkle. The tags are so cute and will look wonderful tied on some lucky person's package this Christmas!
