Happy retirement

I have quite a few teacher friends who are retiring this year, so I have decided to start making retirement cards. This card was made using the Cricut Formal occasions cartridge and last year's summer dp from SU. The cardstock colors are turquoise, pear, daffodil. I love how it came out and I hope that my teacher friend gets to do this during his retirement, lay on the beach and relax!

You are amazing

Today's card uses all A Muse Studio products. The stamps are from the Sampler that comes with the demo starter kit. The rhinestones are also A Muse and I put rhinestones in the middle of the flowers for some bling. I used kraft for the card base.

So some news. I've decided to keep my SU demonstratorship and A Muse Studio was just nice to get the starter kit with a lot of new product. So remember if you want to purchase SU product I am still here to help you.

Have a great day.

Masculine PTI blog hop

Today, I created a challenge for the Paper Trey ink Blog hop. The theme was a man or boy card. I bought the whole lot of new stamp sets from PTI from last month's boy inspired release but they didn't come in time. This card is a 4x4 card and I used red cardstock and stamped the anchor image with red ink. The sailboat is stamped in Navy and Night of Navy. The images are from Men of Life. I had some fun rope and tied it around the card base. A fun and easy card.
Thanks for visiting.

Challenge #6 - Sock Cupcake

This week's challenge at Birthday Sundaes is to create a birthday invitation, banner, packaging. I decided to make a cupcake wrapper wrapped around a sock cupcake. I took a pair of fuzzy socks and started at the toes, I rolled them up tightly and used a rubber band on the bottom to hold it together. The cupcake wrapper comes from Life of the Party Cricut cartridge and is cut at I think 2.5. I secured it with redline tape and then wrapped the whole thing in cellophane and made a tag using my SU tag punch and sentiment is from A Muse Studio. I hope that you decide to visit the Birthday Sundaes challenge blog and join the challenge.

Special Delivery

Last week's winner was: Josie0602. Please email me with your address so that I can mail your prize to you. This week's blog candy is this Inkadinkadoo coastal stamp set. To win just leave a comment on this post and I will select a winner next Friday.

Today I am sharing a cute card that I made for a colleague at work. I used my Gypsy to create a onesie card using the Life's a party cartridge. The images are from the Echo Park 12x12 kit as is the paper. I used pink brads on the bottom of the card to imitate snaps. I think that it came out very cute. It fits in a standard A2 envelope. It really is fun to make a card and actually either send it or give it to someone special. I think that's the challenge! I have sent cards to Operation Write Home but I still have tons of cards. What do you all do with the cards that you make? Are you guys better at sending cards than I am? I would love to hear what you all do with the creations that you make!

My Friend

Today, I am sharing some of my favorite pictures of my son Tyler. We went to Disneyland last summer and ran into Woody and Jesse he was ecstatic and I took the most darling pictures of him hugging them and showing how he was was wearing them on his shirt. I then made it a mission to find out where Buzz was and stake him out. We got lucky and he took these cute pictures. This is my scrapbook layout of those pics. I used the Toy Story cart but I found the Buzz just impossible to cut out so I used my markers in my Cricut and cut him out and then used copics to color him in. The dp is from my stash and the title is from Robotz cartridge. It's pictures like these that make me so happy to scrapbook - he had such joy and pure happiness on his face that day! I hope that you like my layout today!

Life is a Beach

Today I am sharing my layout for this week's Cricut Circle weekly contest. The challenge is to use flowers in the layout. Normally, I only share and create layouts that I have actual pictures for. I like to do challenges that are practical to my scrapbooking goals. So I created this layout and then couldn't find my pictures! Anyway, I used the Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge for almost all of the cuts. The flowers are hibiscus and the dp is from my stash and I used my white gel pen a little bit more liberally than normal. I cuttlebugged my little sun up in the corner and I made sure that I had plenty of space for pictures. I hope that you like it!

With Sympathy

Today's card is one that I hope that I don't have to make too often, a sympathy card. This card was made using retired SU dp raspberry tart and rose red cardstock. The image is from round and round, an exclusive customer appreciation set from PTI and one of the matstack images and dies. I also used white ribbon and some bling. The sentiment also from PTI is stamped in black.

Don't forget I have blog candy here.

Challenge #5 - Spring Birthday

This week's challenge at Birthday Sundaes is an "Anything Goes" challenge. I was itching to use this cute bunny from Kate's ABC's cricut cartridge. It was cut at 4.0 inches in espresso cardstock. I also used pear, olive, rose red and daffodil cardstock. The paper is retired spring paper from SU. The top portion was embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder. The "happy spring" is from My Creative Time stamps and the "happy birthday" is from A Muse Studio. I hope that you like what I have for you this week and that you find time to join the challenge at Birthday Sundaes.

A Little Pickup

Today I am sharing a card that I made using the Just Cards Cricut cartridge. This is on the of those carts that I had to have but haven't really made time to play with. I cut the pickup truck in bashful blue an marina mist. The wheels were cut with espresso. The dp is blueberry maine retired from SU. I used my whtite gel pen very liberally with this card. What I discovered was that I had cut my truck a little big and now it doesn't fit into a regular size card. I think that I would have cut my sentiment in a darker color because the bashful blue seemed to just faded into the background. Thanks so much for looking today.

Frames blog candy

Last week's winner was: Pam, the Bug Bytes. Please email me with your address so that I can mail out your prize. To win just leave a comment on this post and I will select a winner next Friday.

I have been so busy lately, with work and home and every weekend we seem to be off doing something. Last weekend we went to the beach and flew a kite. It was nice enough for the kids to dip their feet in the water - they ran around and played in the sand. Only in So Cal can you go the snow one weekend and to the beach the next! Hope you all have a great weekend.

New baby

It's always nice to have a few baby cards on hand and this one is super simple. The paper is SAB dp from two years ago mounted on kraft cardstock. I also used the SAB celery ribbon. The stamps are from SU and I paperpieced the little elephant with the SAB paper. I finally have had enough of this paper. It's lasted a really long time and I even might have another full paper pack hiding around somewhere. When I started spring cleaning my stash, all of this paper, I could find got donated. I'm being ruthless this year, if I can give it away to a friend or here on the blog, I will but I can't even see the bottom of the pile with all of the stuff I have piled around. I don't want to end up on hoarders so I got to either use it or it's got to go!

Girl in the City

Today's card uses stamps from MFT, Who's that Girl in the City and paper from SU saleabration from 2 years ago. The girl's outfit is paperpieced and I used this fun snow writer pen to put sparkle on her outfit and for the snow. The ribbon came in the VIP kit. I think that it looks very wintery. The sketch was one of the weekly MFT sketches. We actually went to the snow a coupl of weeks ago, man made but still fun. Thanks for visiting.

Easy Scrapbook pages

Today I am sharing a very simple scrapbook layout from when Lily turned 2 last year. I am doing really well in catching up and am getting close to being done with 2010. This layout uses CTMH papers. I just matted and added the photos and used my Cricut to cut the title and the butterfly is from Create a Critter. Everyone needs some simple pages where you just slap the photos on and call it a day.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #4

Today is Challenge #4 at the Birthday Sundaes Challenge Blog. Today's challenge is an inspiration photo challenge. I was inspired by the above photo and created the following card.
The card is made using blushing bride cardstock and ribbon from SU. I used the banner die from MFT and gingham cardstock from A Muse Studio. The snetiment is from A Muse Studio and I used the fancy label punch from SU. The Ice cream was cut using my Cricut and Sweet Treats cartridge. I think the punch was a really close match to the original photo. I hope that you will visit the Birthday Sundaes blog and join the challenge!

Today, I am sharing a card that I made for the ICopic design team tryouts. The stamps are from MFT's teachers' Pet. I colored in the image with copics R81 (Rose Pink), R85 (Rose Red) and RV11 (Pink). I used my white copic to make dots on the skirt and to shade the apple R46 (Strong Red). The dp is Basic Grey Hello Luscious. The ribbon is from PTI and the image was punched with an SU oval scallop punch. The cardstock is blushing bride from SU and was embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder.
