25 Days of Christmas - Day 25

Hi everyone!
Made it to the last day. I actually have one other Christmas project to share but it's not quite ready to share so I probably will share it around New Year's. In the meantime, my project today is about preserving Christmas cards. Or at least one idea on how you can save them in a cute and crafty way. Excuse the video, some rambling and struggle with bookrings is on display!

I hope that everyone is having or had a wonderful holiday. My holiday continues tomorrow when my kids come home and we can open presents. Today, I am headed to my parents house. My dad will be making breakfast and I will watch my nieces open presents. Then home to clean up. Yikes! My house is a total mess. Thanks so much for visiting me this holiday season!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 24

Hi everyone.

Happy Christmas Eve! I made to Day 24. Thanks for all of you who have left kind comments and came to visit me each day. It's nice to know that I am not just talking to myself! Today I am doing another Minc project. Be sure to watch the video to see the products that I am using and how it gets put together.

My kids leave at noon to go to their Father's. They are very sad because they really want to see their cousin's who they mostly only see once a year. Divorce sucks. I am trying to be positive because I want them to still enjoy their holiday. So I am feeling a bit sad but my Mom makes my absolute hands down favorite dinner tonight so I am looking forward to eating extra carbs tonight.

Here is the video:

Enjoy your day and see you tomorrow!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 23

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 23 of my 25 Days of Christmas. Today, I am sharing a minc project that also uses some other products in my stash. The idea is to move beyond the one layer cards with minc and use it as more of a coloring element. Be sure to watch the video to see all the products that I use and how it gets put together.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 22

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the 25 Days of Christmas - Day 22. Yesterday, we went to Knotts Berry Farm but we had to leave early because my son wasn't feeling well. He kind of has a weak stomach anyway and doesn't do really well with too many twists and turns. The little one though is a gamer and I felt bad taking her home early. Luckily, my sister and her husband went back later with their kids and took her back and she came home so happy. She told me she went on "Somebody's Revenge" (Montezuma's Revenge) and had some "Poisonberry Punch" (Boysenberry Punch) and it was delicious. Hah! Today, we are supposed to go do an outdoor activity but it's raining as I am writing this so I have no idea what we are going to do.

Today's project is felt ornaments. I used Memory Box Snowman dies for this and was inspired by Jennifer McGuire. She has a great video on her blog.

I hope that you visit me again, I really like the next two day's projects and can't wait to share them.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 20

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 20 of my 25 Days of Christmas. Today, I am sharing some quick ink projects. In yesterday's post, I talked about how I used a copy machine to get the ink necessary for the Minc and foil to work. Today, my projects use stamps and then I did the same method, running my own cardstock through a copy machine and then I brought it home and minc'ed it. I did learn a few things and so I have a video for you also. You will see some other projects in the video but I am actually going to do some other things with those projects in another post to embellish my card even more.

Unfortunately, You can't really see the awesome shine. But it was really fun to experiment with my stamps and the experimentation will continue with my next Minc post.

258 Days of Christmas - Day 19

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Day 19 of my 25 Days of Christmas. Today it's supposed to rain. What? It has been cold for us here in So. Cal. I am sure many of you would scoff at our freezing 60 degree temperatures. Then it warmed up the last two days, yesterday it was about 75 and now it's going to rain. Boooo! Lily has a dance class and then we are going to an event which includes Breakfast with Santa, crafts and face painting and some other holiday activities and my nieces' are coming too so that should be fun. Luckily, this place has underground parking so we should avoid getting too wet but nobody knows how to drive in the rain. We get so little of it, we forget.

Anyway, my project today includes some experimenting with my new Mini Minc machine. I printed off a free printable. It was a link from Jennifer McGuire as part of her handmade kindness project. The actual printable can be found here , K Werner Design Shop. I downloaded the printable and opened it with Adobe. I printed it on copy paper and then copied it on a copy machine using my own cardstock. The copy machine needs to use a toner cartridge instead of ink jet cartridges so large copy machines and laser printers.

I then brought the project home and used gold foil and my minc machine and literally 2 minutes later, I had this beautiful card that looked professionally made.

Isn't pretty? I just love my Minc machine. Thanks so much for visiting today!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 18

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 18 of the 25 Days of Christmas. I have a project today using my new Mini Minc machine. I was lucky to get it for a good price on Black Friday. I had to take my picture at an angle because it is so shiny that it kept showing up as a glare on my camera. I had also planned on doing some projects using a printer and foil but of course I left my stuff at work. Luckily, I have one more day of work left. That's right, I'm getting ready to be off for two weeks!

Now onto my project:

25 Days of Christmas - Day 16

Hi everyone,
I am back with another 25 Days of Christmas project. We are on Day 16. I am struggling to keep up a little bit but I have some projects in the pipeline that I hope that I can get done in time! My project today are EOS lip balm holders. I have seen these all over Facebook and I really wanted to make some for gifts or as add ons for gifts. I am hoping that this post will help some of you avoid the mistakes that I made especially if you are using your Cricut Explore and importing an SVG File.

Now, I bought some cute files from SVG Cutting Files. When these files import, they import at a larger size than they should. The directions that comes with the cut states this and says that they have included a circle that you are supposed to help you size the hole that your EOS lip balm holder will fit. But...that circle gets resized too. After much research, the circle should be at 1.53. Then you resize your image so the holes match up and you are good to go. Trust me it works but it took most of my Sunday to make it work. Also, the Santa and Penguin are huge! The Gingerbread girl was just right!

Be sure to watch the video to see the project and I ramble through the information that I gave you above!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 15

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the 25 Days of Christmas, Day 15. I don't know if any of you shop at yourscrapbooksupply.com. Anyway, they had a 30% off sale of their entire site and so I bought some Lawn Fawn stamps that were already 25% off so it was a nice little deal. One of the stamp sets I bought was this cute Fleece Navidad. Now, I am in the middle of using up scrap and getting through some old paper pads so the rule is I am not allowed to open up a new pad until I use up the old and it is hard baby. So these colors are a little funky but I am challenging myself to use my stash.

Today, was also the first day of our little Secret Santa at work. My Secret Santa got me a bar of William Sonoma peppermint bark my absolute favorite! Yum. Now onto my card:
I also have a video for you all too:

25 Days of Christmas - Day 14

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the 25 Days of Christmas, Day 14. Today's project is in the form of a video. My baby is sick and is with her father an additional night and I hope that I don't regret that decision. It's just today, I have an important appointment that it took a month for me to get which I would cancel in a second if I had to but her father offered to watch her. I think that she has stomach flu, her cousin had it and its going around at their school. I also thought that it was a good idea to separate my son from her so he doesn't get it too as its airborne and very contagious. This is the last week of school and I would hate for him to miss his party because he's sick.

I'm going to be doing a lot of disinfecting when she comes home later today!

Here is my project today:

Thanks for watching today.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 13

HI everyone,
Welcome to the 25 Days of Christmas, Day 13. Today, was a quiet day at home which I used to get caught up on some projects which I worked on all day. I also cleaned my bathroom and meal prepped for the week. As I am writing this, I have some hot soup waiting for me. My card today is a fun shaker card.

I used scrap mostly from Echo Park and my favorite snowman from the Hello Kitty cartridge. I had a comment that someone didn't know this was even on there. There are some super cute images on there so check it out. My sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and my sentiment is from CardzTV Snow Days!

Thanks for looking and see you all tomorrow!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 12

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 12 of my 25 Days of Christmas. I have a busy and fun day ahead. I am going to a Scholastic Warehouse book sale with my sister and then we are meeting a friend for lunch/afternoon tea. Then I come back home to clean my house a little bit, wrap presents and work on some holiday projects! I have to do as much as I can this weekend because then I have my kids all the way until Christmas Eve including the first week of school vacation.

On to my card! I am apparently into snowmen this season. A little odd as there is absolutely no snow where I live in Southern California. I probably should put the snowman on a surfboard. One of my Dad's friends was complaining about the cold and the snow on Facebook and my Dad posted he was going surfing and going to wear sunscreen. Hah!

I also have a video for you too!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 11

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the 25 Days of Christmas, Day 11. Sorry this post is so late but its been a busy week! Got a little bit ahead on my son's homework - he has a current event presentation next week, along with just the usual stuff!

I finally got a bit organized and wrote out a list of all of the people I need to send a card to. I am doing a mix of photocards and handmade cards and what I discovered is that I am very short on homemade cards so I really need to get a move on.

The card today uses Mama Elephant's Arctic Penguins and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

I also have a video for you all.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 10

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Day 10 of my 25 Days of Christmas. I am having a little party for my student helpers and I have a quick and easy gift and an easy packaging idea. However, I struggled with the print and cut function on my Cricut Explore. I cut a label out and I made sure to attach everything but my label had two cutting areas and it cut both when I just wanted to cut the outside so I don't know if I need to weld that or what. Anyway, no pics as I am writing this post up at 11:00pm and it is my bedtime!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 8

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Day 8 of my 25 Days of Christmas. Today, I am continuing tags but I am doing shaker tags!

These are super fun. I hope to be able to make a few more for some other gifts because they are just fun, fun, fun and so easy. You can use any dies or cuts, even punches to make these as long as you have varying sizes to make your windows. For these I used stamps to make it go a bit faster.

I also have  video for you too which goes over the supplies that I used and what I found to be the easiest way to make these.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope to have a bonus video for you guys this week on my Black Friday haul. I was waiting for some items to come in.

FCCB Challenge #266 Anything but a Card

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Challenge #266 Anything But a Card

This Weeks Sponsor:

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

And, if you submit a project in our challenge that isn't a card, you will get two entries for a chance to win the prize instead of one!

It's also Day 7 of my 25 Days of Christmas. Today's post is tags! This year I had the crazy idea of making tags for ALL of my gifts except the Santa ones and I think that I am going to do it somehow. The tags I am sharing today use a variety of Cricut cuts mostly from Doodlecharms, Create a Critter and the Hello Kitty cartridge.

I made a video but I couldn't get it posted in time so check back either here or sometime this week (probably Tuesday!) to see it.

Be sure to visit Fantabulous Cricut to join in the challenge.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 5

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Day 5 of my 25 Days of Christmas. Yesterday was super busy with my son in a Christmas program and my daughter dancing in a Christmas parade!

Today is a review of Heidi Swapp's Marquee Love snowman. Now, in fairness, I will say that I struggle with these types of 3D projects but I picked this one up on Black Friday for a great price. Couple of things I would do differently - I would not use the tape at all! I think painting the piece would be the way to go. I would poke my holes for my bulbs and I would completely clean the holes of paper and I mean completely or the bulbs will not go through. Force will cause you to possibly break pieces of your snowman.

This video was filmed completely with me not testing anything so it's a real life review of me actually making this project. I had to stop the video a few times because my struggles were making the video really long and there is some parts that I left out because I thought that I had it but I didn't.

It reminded me a little bit of Pinterest fails where people try and make things they see on Pinterest and it ends up a giant mashed up mess!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 2

Hi everyone,

Thanks for joining me for Day 2 of my 25 Days of Christmas 2015. Today's project uses the super cute Lawn Fawn Snow Days stamp set and paper from Echo Park. I have been suffering from sinus problems for a couple of weeks and have now developed into a full blown cold, scratchy throat and all. Hopefully, it will start getting better soon, better now than at Christmas.

Here is my card:
I also have a video to share with you all:
