Halloween Fun

This is a card that I did for a MFT swap. I wasn't sure if I liked it but I think that it's grown on me.

The paper is from a DCWV Fall Paper Pack. I used CTMH petal and paper pieced the outfit. I used stickles on the moon and stars.

Tomorrow, I have to work a very long day. I have back to school night and I live a little too far away to go home first so I have a marathon day. Thank goodness I have the Internet!

Do you have Verve?

Verve Visual is hosting a contest. If you don't know about Verve Visual it's a stamp company started by Julee over at Poetic Artistry. I'm all about supporting independent women in the crafting industry so I had to pick up these stamps and check them out.

I used the OH Girl line of Basic Grey paper and the Fancy Florals stamp set by Verve Visual. The colors are Baby Pink and Petal. This is the first time I've used Petal, I actually had to take the shrinkwrap off of the stamp pad! I used my new nestability scallop dies for the sentiment and the ribbon is old SU organdy. I stamped each piece of the flower separately and then used dimensionals to give depth. It's simple but I like it.
If you haven't noticed already, I love challenges and card contests! They are so fun. There is another one going on at Inique Boutique. If you upload a card using their stamps on Thursday, they'll send you a free stamp. I am so tired today though that I don't think I even have the energy to stamp. Now that's tired.

Tyler's thank you Cards

Good morning. Just wanted to post a quick card before work. This is the thank you card that I'm sending for Tyler's birthday party.

I used almost all CTMH products. The paper is from the Rough and Tumble paper pack and I used the stamp set Little Boys and Karen Foster's snap stamps, I finally used them! The colors are outdoor denim, Clover Meadow and Cranberry. I used SU punches and eyelets and brads from my stash. And look a no ribbon card! I used Beate's current weekend sketch for my inspiration. Thanks for looking! Pin It Now!

Where's the winner?

Well I haven't heard from the grand prize winner yet from last week! So if they don't email me by Tuesday night I will be picking another winner and announcing it on Wednesday! I've been really busy re-organizing and cleaning up my stamp corner. I'll try to remember to take pictures so you can see what I mean by corner!

Here's another card using the Fancy Florals set by Verve Visual. I used Buttercup and Indian Corn Blue along with more Sarah paper by SU. I just got a new stamp set and some cool punches from my SU demonstrator so I hope to be able to play with those soon!

Mojo Found!

I decided to do Julee's Mojo Monday challenge #3 and I think I found my mojo. This card rocks if I do say so myself. For some reason, everything just went very well with the colors and design which believe me is not always the case.

I used the colors Cranberry and Garden Green. The patterned paper is DCWV glitter stack. I used my snowflake embossing folder to cuttlebug the side piece. The Noel stamp is Stampendous and the sentiment is MFT. I paper pieced the ornament and used CTMH cranberry ribbon as well as some random bling on the little ornament next to the sentiment. I used Copics to color in the image.

Here's a blurry picture of my sweetie on his real birthday which was Wednesday. He is just about recovered from his spots here. Isn't he gorgeous? Have a great weekend everybody. Pin It Now!

Friday Heart Candy

Happy Friday! This will be a very short post because I have to get ready for work. I have 1 more set of Karen Foster snap stamps to give away. Yeah!

I really want to liven up my blogroll. So to win, please leave your blog address and I'll add you to my blogroll. I would love to be added to yours as well but that's optional. If you don't have a blog, how come? No I'm kidding, blogs take time. So if you don't have one, list one of your favorites but try to list a different one. There are tons out there and it shouldn't be too hard! I'll use the random.org site to pick a winner next Wednesday the 26th. You have until Tuesday to submit your sites! Pin It Now!

Another Criss Cross

I saw this different orientation criss cross card on Cambria's site and decided to make one. The papers are Doodlebug and the stamps are Beautiful Blooms by Paper Trey Ink. I used the colors Holiday Red, Indian Corn Blue and Clover Meadow.

The sentiment is Verve Visual. You know the weather here is nuts. One week it's hotter than hot and then it's actually supposed to rain here today. Rain in Southern California? Unheard of...so leaving for work early, just in case (and to get me a really big non-fat white mocha from Starbucks!) Have a good day everyone!

Winners!

Good morning everyone. The winners are:

MFT stamp set and Paper Pack:Amy from Oregon. Runners Up: Julie Mutch, Kathy W and Jodene. Please email me ladies so I can get your prizes out to you. Thanks so much for visiting. It was very interesting to hear where everyone is from! Don't forget Heart Candy is a regular feature of my blog.

This is a very simple card using Basic Grey Oh Baby paper, Lilac Mist Cardstock and ribbon and the stamp set Hedgehog Happiness from SU. I really wanted to use a paper flower here but I only had white ones so I colored a purple one with my copics. The image is colored with a combination of copics and Prisma Colored pencils. I used my scallop nestability spellbinder die to create the scallop. I use mine in the cuttlebug but I am having a heck of a time getting the embossing to work with the spellbinder dies.

Anyway, thanks for playing, hope you visit again soon.

Card for Monday

I had a lot going on this weekend. I went to a baby shower on Saturday and my baby's first birthday party. Poor baby broken out in a rash and had a fever, found out he had Roseola, which I had never heard of. I'm told it's common in baby's of his age but he spent his party looking like he had polka dots. I did make this card for a swap.

The stamps are My Favorite Things and the paper is the Fall stack from DCWV. I used my Spellbinder scallop and rectangle dies for the first time. I used a white galaxy pen and Martha Stewart ribbon. The Boo was die cut with my cuttlebug. I think I might add a brad or two because it just seems to plain to me. The image was colored in using copics. Anyway, I hope you all had a great start to your week. Pin It Now!

5,000 Hit Heart Candy

Wow, I can't believe that I have had 5,000 hits. To celebrate, the candy this week is super fabulous.
I'm giving away this Hit the Beach MFT set and 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad called Perhaps. I have an extra cream copic marker but I can't find it. If I find it I'm putting that with this prize too. It's around here somewhere..need to clean my stamp area. Anyhow, I bought two of these sets somehow so here it is for this special giveaway.

3 runners up will receive this alphabet set! To win is very simple, just leave a comment saying where you're from! Thanks to everyone for visiting my blog.

I didn't have whole lot of time to stamp the last couple of days and yesterday I started cleaning up my stamp area. It's a disaster. When you have less than two inches of space to work, it's time to clean it up!

I did make this cute tin though. I got the tin from Paper Trey Ink. I stamped avery labels with a stamp from Spooky Treats (Paper Trey Ink) and wrapped them around Hershey nuggets. The colors used were CTMH sunflower and Autumn Terracotta. My husband loved this and wants me to make Christmas ones for his co-workers. I think it would make a very sweet gift.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, don't forget to post here on this comment to win the candy!

Criss Cross Cards

This is a really fun card to make. I saw how to make one on Cambria's Blog.

I used more of my Fancy Pants paper, Fancy Florals and Thoughtful Phrases stamp sets from Verve Visual. I also used my SU punch and ribbon. Colors used were New England Ivy and Autumn Terracotta from CTMH.

Here is another criss cross card. I used the CTMH colors breeze, ocean and vineyard berry. The stamp sets used were Coffee Shop and For All Occasions. The paper is from Just Chillin'. Ribbon and punch are SU. The little brad was from the Target dollar spot.
These cards are really easy and fun to make. Why don't you try one? If you do post here because I would love to see what you do with this...

Weekend Stamping

I hope that everyone had a good weekend. Mine was very peaceful even though it went fast. My stepkids went to their mom's and my baby spent some time with my mom so I had a little time to stamp!
I made this card for Beate's weekend sketch and I thought it would be nice for a friend of mine who's having a baby shower next weekend. The paper is Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl. The stork stamp is Amuse and the sentiment is from SU. I used CTMH Lilac Mist and the ribbon is Maya Road.
I used similar colors for this card but I used Sarah paper from SU. The ribbon, cardstock and ribbon is CTMH. I cuttlebugged the lilac mist cardstock. I used my Verve Visual set Fancy Florals for the Image. This card also is based on Beate's weekend sketch.

I used the CPS sketch from last week for this card. The patterend paper is from Fancy Pants and I used Autumn Terracotta ink and cardstock. The ribbon is from SU. Stamps are Verve Visual.

I really like the way the sentiments look in Verve Visual's Fancy Florals set. I made this sympathy card using 1st and second generation stamping with CTMH cranberry and new england ivy ink. I sponged a little new england ivy around the images for a little pizzazz. I think it's a simple but elegant card perfect for a sympathy card.

I just received my little photo box from ebay and this is the first time I've used it. I love it! It was under 20 bucks and it's really small, perfect for taking pictures of cards. I think my pictures look so much better! Don't forget blog candy ends on Wednesday. Hope you all have a great week.

Blog Candy Friday!

Ok, so it appears that this is going to be a regular feature on my blog. I've been pretty good about posting it every Friday. So I have a very nice stamp set to give away.

It's a K and Company clear birthday stamp set under the K Marcella line. I bought two so I have one extra to give away. It's actually a kind of cool set, good for cards as well as scrapbooking. How do you win? Leave a comment on this post letting me know which of my cards is your favorite! Also, if you would like to win a second prize of a very nice stamp (no picture!) then please also leave a comment on what I should name my weekly candy! If I go with your suggestion, then you win the very nice stamp.

I want to give everyone a chance to win something so those creative geniuses have a chance to win twice and all us regular people have a chance too!

Here is another card using MFT stamp set called Let's Hear it for the Boys. Such as cute set! I used my Chatterbox paper also! The ribbon is WER Memory Keepers.

This card was so simple but I love how it came out. I used my Infuse paper pad from Basic Grey and my Verve Visual stamp set Fancy Florals. The colors are Olive and Hollyhock. I also used my giga scallop square punch and just used two punch outs to create a rectangle. This is a "kick stand" card which I saw on this website.

I also wanted to thank everyone for the kind works regarding my baby's eczema. The RX the dr. gave him is working and his skin is looking beautiful and the best part no more scratching! I do appreciate all of my lovely blog friends advice and support! Thank you!

Happy Friday everyone and talk to you soon.

Hodgepodge Thursday

Is everyone looking forward to Friday as much as I am? It's been hectic at work, still no phones and no Internet! We still can't plug in anything so I am really missing my fridge with my cold drinks! Oh well, just one more day! But onto the fun stuff, I have a hodgepodge of fun cards to share with you all.

I love this first card because I found the most perfect paper ever for this stamp! The stamp is stick people from Wordsworth and the paper is from Chatterbox. It's two sided so both patterns are from the same paper. I used my copics to color him in and used Indian Corn blue cardstock and CTMH pewter brads. I cut the ovals with my coluzzle and used my scalloped scissors on the larger oval to create a scalloped border.

In this card, I used my Basic Grey Infuse paper, along with My Favorite Things stamps and ribbon from Maya Road. I paper pieced the dress and background, and colored in the rest of the image with my copics.

This is the Joy Fold card that I made my mom for her birthday. It was not an easy card to take pictures of it. It has all kinds of cute places to put messages and such. I used MFT stamps as well as Paper Trey Ink's new stamp set Beautiful Blooms. The tutorial for this card can be found here.

I hope that everyone has a great night. Hope to see you all tomorrow! I will be posting some happy Friday candy!

Blog Winners for today

Hello everyone. Well, I don't have a lot of time to post. I'm trying to get this out before I have to leave for work. No computer at work as of yet. Long story but basically my library, I'm a school librarian if I haven't already mentioned, is being renovated and we're in a temporary bungalow. We have air conditioning thank goodness but not much else. So here are the winners:

#1 Jen (Jen's Stamp World)

#2 Daismonds

#3 Laura

Please email me ladies with your mailing address and I'll mail your prizes out to you this weekend.
Yep, more Halloween hedgehogs from SU. I absolutely love them. I used my cuttlebug for the black embossed background. I doodled around my scallop edge and used my copics to color in the image. The background paper is Creative Imaginations and the ribbon is Martha Stewart.

I used a combination of Prisma pencils and copics to color in this image. The paper is Creative Imaginations and the ribbon is Michaels. I just invested in one of those little photo boxes, I bought it on Ebay pretty cheap.

Make sure to come back on Friday for even more blog candy.

Don't take pictures at night!

I wanted to post something before I start back at work tomorrow but I wasn't able to take pictures all day today! So I took the pictures of these cards at 7:00 at night and they didn't come out as well as I hoped. In these samples, I used Beate's sketch again and the new CTMH paper pack Caprice.

The colors used are crystal blue and chocolate, all the paper is from CTMH. The stamp sets used are For All Occasions from CTMH and Beautiful Blooms from Paper Trey Ink.

In this card, I used the stamp set Simple Blossoms from CTMH.

A different flower in the set Simple Blossoms from CTMH was used in this card. I'm sorry the picture is so dark but the colors are actually very pretty in person! I hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. I hope to talk to you all soon!

Happy almost Labor Day

I hope that everyone is having a fun and happy Labor Day. My Labor Day is hot, it's in the 90's here in sunny California. I know that I shouldn't complain because we do have some of the best weather around but SCE (our electric company) has been powering down our air conditioner. We signed up for an energy saving program, we get a discount and in return when peak usage is up, they can power down our air conditioner. My mom who works for SCE says people almost never get powered down. Well, we've been powered down 3 days in a row, from like 3:00pm - 9:00pm. My poor baby is a sweat ball. So we have fans going, so we're still using electricity but I guess not as much.

Anyhow, I have a 4th of July layout for you all. I know I make a lot of cards but I actually do a fair amount of scrapbooking too!

I also have two cards for Beate's weekend challenge. I don't love either one so I think I'm going to go back to the drawing board but here they are.

I cannot remember where this paper came from, but the stamp is Changito from Stampendous and the ribbon is WER Memory Keepers.

I used Max and pumpkins stamp from Stampendous, Martha Stewart ribbon and some of the leaves and flowers that I'm giving away in my blog candy. I think it looks a little busy so back to the drawing board. Pin It Now!
