Pink Monday

Hello all, Well I recovered from my weekend of house projects. We have someone coming to install the top cabinets in our kitchen on Saturday, which means all of the kitchen boxes in Tyler's room will have a home! Maybe we'll even be able to eat off of dishes. Yep, I've been eating off of paper plates for over a year!

I received my new Paper Trey Ink order and I thought that I would share a cute little birthday card I made this morning.

The cardstock is PTI Berry Sorbet and the ink used was Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush also by PTI. The stamp set is called It's a Celebration. The ribbon is also PTI. I used my nestabilities for the scallop squares. The DP is PTI Pink Patterns 6x6 pad. On the Sweet blush cardstock, I stamped little confetti in Sweet blush ink for a subtle background.

I had someone ask what I used to color in my Lola's. I used Prismacolor pencils, gamsol and a paper stump.
I bought my Gamsol at a Rubber Stamp Convention years ago because I saw someone demonstrating with it using chalks. I only brought it out when I saw it appear on all of the blogs.

In this example, I used a pink and a light red pencil and very roughly colored in Lola's hat.

Then I dip my stump into the gamsol and color over my pencil images, blending and filling in any white space. The gamsol works like magic, making my "rough" coloring look smooth and bright.
Hope this answered your question! Enjoy!

Heart Candy & Weekend Break

Today's heart candy is a good one, in my opinion. It an unmounted stamp set called Lola with Flowers. You will need to trim the rubber and mount it. I use the EZ mount cushion foam for mine. You can only get this stamp from the UK. I placed an order and added a couple of extras for giveaways!

To win just post a comment on this post by Tuesday and I will choose a random number on Wednesday and post here with the winner.
Have I told you all about my housing situation. We bought this fixer upper (or money pit) last December. When we moved in the baby was 6 months old and still sleeping in our room. So his room became the junk room. Well now we are expecting another baby and it's time to move Tyler into his own room before the baby comes and my husband, the "procrastinator" has not worked on the house in months and the room is filled from floor to ceiling. So this weekend and the next 4 weekends we will be working on house projects to finally get that room cleared out. It was causing me a lot of anxiety so I'm glad we're working on it. So I will be MIA until Monday, but I will be on break next week so I'll have plenty of time for scrapbooking and stamping. I will be spending this weekend doing what I can, probably laundry and cleaning up my scrap area.
I hope that everyone else's weekend will be a little bit more fun!

Spring time winner!

Wow, it sure has been warm here! My mom just bought the baby a bunch of long sleeve shirts but I don't think he'll be able to wear them at all now. I feel for all of you that still have to deal with snow advisory, rain and chill, hopefully it will be gone soon! We do have a new home for the spring glitter stack and it goes to ...

Rita from Rita's Little Corner. Please email me Rita with your address so that I can get your prize out to you.

I had a question posted on my last card asking about prismacolor pencils and gamsol and I'm hoping tonight I will be able to make up a short tutorial for you. Basically, you would color in your image with the pencils - I sometimes leave a little white space and then use the gamsol with a "stump" to blend your colors. It really does make the colors pop.

And finally a card for you all. I used the same sketch as my last card but I used a different stamp from the Pun Fun SU stamp set. My sentiment is a little off kilt but again I used my prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color in my little skunk. I used a small stamp from one of my SU stamp sets (can't remember the name of it) to stamp the little hearts and I used up (nearly) the last of this pretty Cloud 9 paper.

I haven't stamped at all this week, just been busy and now my stepkids are on spring vacation but they left to go to their mom's for a couple of days so I feel like I have some freedom. I only have to feed the three of us for a few days so I think it will be take out! I hopefully will try and find some time this week to stamp but now with the teenagers gone my husband wants to spend more time with me which is nice but it cuts into my stamping time! But I'm on spring vacation next week so I'll have time then!

Also, if you are interested in winning some new Basic Grey visit sassy-crafts.blogspot.com, they just opened a new store and offering up some very cool new Basic Grey!

Don't forget more heart candy on Friday. I left a little clue on the Lola post as to what you can expect so be sure to check back then.

Another Lola

Isn't she cute? This stamp is from Sugar Nellie and I just love this particular line of Lola's. I used up more of this wonderful DP from Cloud 9. The green is just the reverse side of the patterned paper. I used my prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color her in. Not only is this a spring card (kind of my theme for the week) but a hint of what you might expect for Friday's heart candy!
Hope you all had a very nice holiday weekend. I just took Tyler to my mom's on Sunday. He got to search for Easter eggs at his daycare on Friday. My husband showed him there was candy inside and he was amazed that there was something inside, he was stoked just to play with the eggs. Talk to you all soon!

Spring Birthday

I just got this SU stamp set about a week or so ago and I think that it's just so cute for making simple and easy cards.

The stamp set is called Pun Fun. The papers are all CTMH as is the ribbon. The circle and scallop circle are nestabilities. I used my SU word window punch for the sentiment. I colored in the cute little bird using my copic markers.

Here is a fun tip that I'm sure everyone but me figured out. But when mounting this stamp set, I cut the sentiment apart and attached it to the end of the wood block so that I can use it easily anywhere on my card or use it for with other stamps!

Also, I feel kind of bad reading about everyone dealing with snow and rain and frost, it was like 85 degrees here in sunny California. We took the baby to the park and it was really a beautiful day.

Happy Easter everyone!

Spring is Here! Heart Candy!

Isn't this cool Heart Candy? I was at Joann's yesterday and saw this spring glitter matstack. I ended up getting the non-glitter spring matstack for myself and I picked this one up to give away! So even if it's cold and rainy where you are you can pretend it's spring with this fun heart candy. To win is super easy, leave a comment about spring on this post. Any comment, what you like (or don't like), what you're looking forward to, etc. You have until Tuesday and I will choose a winner on Wednesday morning.

I have a couple very cute spring cards to share with you all this weekend. I stayed up and watched Lost instead of uploading stuff and by the time it was over, I was ready for bed! Enjoy your weekend every one!

Five minute cupcake card

Here is a really easy and less than five minute card!

I used my rectangle nestabilities for the scallop and the square. The cupcakes are from MFT as is the sentiment. I used some little rhinestones for the cherries. It's so simple but I like a card now and again without dp and a lot of white space.

Don't forget tomorrow is Heart Candy Friday so I'll see you back here then!

Chocolate Elegance

Here is a simple card for you today. It's simple but I think elegant too. The colors used are CTMH chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla piece was run through my cuttlebug using the stylized flowers embossing folder. The dp is AU Chocolate from SU and the ribbon is also SU as is the sentiment. I just think the Au Chocolate paper makes such elegant cards. This card would be great for a wedding or a birthday.

I had my Dr's apt yesterday. All is well except I feel like I'm gaining too much weight. With Tyler, I only gained 20 lbs and I've already gained 18 with this baby and I still have 11 more weeks to go. So I better start really laying off the junk because I dont' think I'm going to have a 15 lb baby! Talk to you all soon!

Where did the weekend go?

Wow, this was a fast weekend. I do have a card to share. I actually completed 3 other cards but I wasn't able to upload them because I had to work on Saturday which was a bummer and apparently, all the motrin the baby was taking, made him a total nut! We stopped giving it to him on Friday but all weekend he was bouncing off the walls. So Sunday night came and I just felt like crawling into bed!

Here is another card I made in my CTMH stamp camp. It uses the relatively new paper pack Good Times which I wasn't sure I liked but now think it's kinda cool. The stamp set is Simple Beauty. Chalks were used to color in the image. I always forget about chalks but they give a nice look to the project. Because CTMH has white core to their cardstock, the cardstock was scored and then sanded for a different look.

Tyler turns 18 months on Wednesday and am I done with his one year scrapbook? Nooooo! I only have like 4 layouts to do so I might be MIA this weekend and finally finish it. Especially before the new baby comes!

Don't forget about the blog candy on the post below. I will choose a winner on Wednesday, Tyler's half birthday!

Thoughts of You

Here is a card that I made in my CTMH stamp camp this weekend. The card uses Thoughts of You stamp set. There was a lot of cutting to do here but I think that it's a nice card. Only time for a quick post today! I hope to do some stamping in the hour and a half I have before bedtime. But I will be back tomorrow with some Basic Grey heart candy!

Today's winner is Shannon! Congrats. Please email me with your address. My email is under my picture.

I hope that everyone is well. My little guy is a little better, no fever this morning so I chanced it and came to work.

Be sure to check back on Friday for more Heart Candy! Pin It Now!

Home sick ...sort of...

Today, was a very hectic day. I had to leave work early because Tyler had a 103 temperature and then when we got to the Dr.'s office it was crazy busy and we had to wait an hour. When we finally got in, his temperature was at 104.6 which was about 3 hours after having Tylenol. They took his temp again and it was 105. Yikes! He was on fire, poor baby. So they gave him more Tylenol and Motrin, I took him home and gave him a bath and he's sleeping and his temperature appears to be gone for now. He doesn't have an ear infection and they can't pinpoint just what virus he has.

I haven't had a chance to create anything today, I was hoping to get some scrapbooking done but I got some laundry done and cleaned up a bit which will hopefully free up my evening. I do have this card to share with you. I made it last week, while I had my True Friend stamp set out.

The paper is SU as well but I can't remember the name of it. The hardware is WER Memory Keepers and the ribbon is from my stash. Very simple and easy card! Remember, I pick the heart candy winner tomorrow so you still have time to post if you want to win! Pin It Now!

I got some Sugar Nellie's!

I ordered a couple of Sugar Nellie stamps from the UK, all from their Lola line. Isn't she sweet? The dp is Cloud 9. I colored in her image using my neglected Prismacolor pencils. The ribbon is May Arts and the embellishments are baubles from Stamping Bella.

I also got Rak'd. Thank you so much to Dottie Kinnear who sent me this lovely spring card!
I hope that everyone had a good weekend. The weekend flew by so quickly, I blame the time change that I didn't get a chance to do too much creating nor did I have time to post! I have quite a few things to share this week to make up for it! Talk to you all soon!

Clearly Two Scoops

Here is something new for me anyway, a transparency or acetate card. I was inspired by a post I saw on Nichole Heady's site.

It's hard to see in the pic, but the acetate folds over under the brads and its kind of like a matchbox card. I used my Two Scoops paper and the stamps are from MFT, Icing on the Cake. The inside sentiment is from SU.

I hope to post the blog candy winner in the morning but I've had a lot of meetings lately so you might want to check back in the late afternoon to see if you've won because I might not be able to post until I get home from work! Talk to you all soon.

Two Scoops Sunday!

Hello everyone, I hope that you all are having a relaxing Sunday. I am feeling a step up better than functional so that's a plus! Today, I have a card to show you showcasing Basic Grey's Two Scoops paper which I just love!

The stamps are from the Icing on the Cake stamp set from MFT. The paper is of course Two Scoops. A simple card but a great way to use up scraps and to show off Dp! The scallop circle was made using my nestabilities and you can't tell from the picture but I used dimensionals to raise it upa bit. The icing was made using liquid pearl paint and I added a little red bling for the cherry!

Have a great week everyone.
