Old and New

Today's card blends the new with the old. The dp is Haiku from Su and the little stamp is from a new hostess set in the new SU catty. Very simply done.

We've actually been working on the house! A shock for anyone who knows us. After over 3 years of living in this house, I am getting my bathroom. We have a master bath that has been used as storage for all this time. It needed to get finished and it's finally happening! Fingers crossed that we get it before I go back to work!

Chugga chugga choo choo!

Here is another card using SU's Choo Choo stamp set - this time the colors are not quite navy and olive. I stamped the railroad track wheel on white and then sponged an olive "grass" below it. The train parts are stamped separately and then attached to the card. The dp is blueberry maine and the base cardstock is old olive. I just love the combo of blue and green. It just seems like such a natural combination.

Good Friend

This card uses the stamp set Good Friend, stamped in the new Cherry Cobbler. The dp is retired slumber party. the bird was stamped separately and cut out. Such a simple and friendly card. I really like this stamp set but I sometimes find that these larger images are difficult to know what to do with! But I think that it really works on this card.

Love Blueberry Maine

Today's card uses this awesome retired Blueberry Maine dp from SU. I just love these colors of olive and not quite navy. I used the stamp set Eastern Blooms and my rectangle nestabilities. A simple card but I think the colors are dp make it a little more wow.

Choo Choo!

Don't forget blog candy here. Today's card uses this so cute choo choo set from SU. I really like this stamp set but I don't use it as much as I should. The colors here are teal, ruby red and cocoa. I stamped the railroad track wheel in chocolate and then stamped my train in different colors and cut it out then used dimensionals on the card. It's always nice to have a few little boy cards on hand.

Today I took the kids to the Pretend Museum in Irvine. This place is so totally cool. If you live in the area or plan to be in the area with kids under 10 this is a super fun place to take them. It's set up like a small town with a farm, marina, doctor's office, etc - with realistic props and dress up and play opportunities. My kids had such a blast that I decided to bite the bullet and get a year membership so we can go when we want. It got really crowded and members get in an hour early. It finally felt like summer today with actual sunshine and everything! Have a happy day.

Don't forget blog candy can be found here. Today's card uses up some leftover pieces from an SU Simply Scrappin' kit for a new baby girl. There is no stamping on this card. I did add some punches and ribbon for some snap.

Wow, we have been having some wierd weather. It's July and in the 70's and downright cool in the morning. We were supposed to have swimming lessons this morning but it was in the 60's and it was just too cold so we went to this really cool park. It's huge with like 5 different play areas including a super fast cement slide we call the Dragon slide. Tyler LOVES this slide. I got to stand on the bottom and catch Lily because she comes down that thing like a bullet! In the evening, I had a belated birthday dinner with my girlfriends at Mac Grill which was fabulous!!! Tomorrow morning I am babysitting my looney toon niece Kayla so my sister can go to the gym so my house will be bedlam!

Don't forget blog candy here. Today's card uses SAB paper pad and this image from Fox and Friends. Very simple card that I made awhile ago when I was trying out my new stuff. I have been making TONS of new cards but I haven't taken pics of it yet but hope to soon. I have been so busy - cleaning up my stepson's old room which will soon be Lily's room, keeping up with the kids and all that jazz. I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday. We had a bbq at my sister's and fireworks, still legal in our city and the kids, Tyler especially had a blast. Today was a rest day and tomorrow we are going to Disneyland this time with the entire brood including my niece! Talk to you all soon.

I had a very quiet birthday. My husband took the day off and we woke up late and went to breakfast. I had time to go to the gym and we got takeout. My husband went out and got me my favorite cake - fudge roll chocolate chip ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins! Yum!

This weekend is our 4th of July holiday and I plan on having some yummy bbq at my sister's and setting off some fireworks! Fun!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my 37th birthday! Happy birthday to me. My kids love singing Happy Birthday. I am not sure what I am doing today. I already got my birthday present from my sister, a pasta maker. We do a class a couple of months ago and now we can make our own pasta. Yeah!

Today's card uses more of the leftover pieces from the Simply Scrappin' Boy kit and the stamp set Fox and Friends. I used bits of ribbon and a matching button to tie it all together. The birds on the DP almost look like the fox's lunch. Unintended! I hope that you all have a great day and I will be back tomorrow with the blog candy winner.

Bird on a leaf

Today's card uses more scraps from SU boy simply scrappin' kit. I added the bird which is an SU punch. I really like this punch and need to think of some more ways to use it.

Today, my stepdaughter took Tyler to see Toy Story 3 while Lily and I did a little shopping. Ann Taylor Loft had a 40% off the entire store so I went on a mini shopping spree which was fun until I bought Lily a cookie and she crumbled it into the side of her car seat. Aren't the terrible 2's fun? Tomorrow we are visiting my sister and niece and then heading to a playgym for a couple of hours. Thursday is my birthday and my husband is taking the day off. He is talking about sending me to a dayspa for a couple of hours and I gotta tell ya that would be the perfect present! Have a great day!

I deserve a star

Today's card uses some leftover pieces from a Simply Scrappin' kit. The stars and sentiment piece as well as the dp and orange and brown cardstock all come from the SU kit and the ribbon is satin in olive. Very simple card and a great way to use up those scraps. Don't forget blog candy is here.

It has been busy! I took my kids all kinds of places last week. We took them to swimming lessons on Saturday and then to my parents house for more swimming. My little niece had some kind of stomach bug and was throwing up and had the runs. She's about 17 months old and skinny! I was really worried for her. My sister and her husband went away for the weekend and so my mom has been watching her. She had to take her to the hospital. She got fluids and had to stay for observation for a couple of hours. Poor baby -she's doing well now but was slightly traumatized. This week we are running around and plan on going to a bounce house, a science museum and the beach, to see Toy Story 3 and a play museum - not necessarily in that order! So I will be tired! that's why I deserve a star!

Today's card uses this cute Pure Innocence stamp from MFT. I also used SU dp from my stash, scraps for the card and paper piecing which I think came out great. The rest of the image is colored with copic. The red button and pink ribbon are also from SU.

It has been a whirlwind week- activities for each day with my kids. Today the park and I just got back from seeing the new World of Color water show at California Adventure at Disneyland. Really fabulous. I only took Tyler and he is tired! We didn't get home until 10:30! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Sail Away

Todays card is one that I made for my husband for Father's Day. I used my stamp set from PaperTreyInk. Paper is scrap from SU's Slumber Party and kraft (not crumb cake) cardstock.

It has been a whirlwind couple of days. My stepson graduated and is now living with his mother for the summer. BIG changes at work, that kind of happened all in the last couple of days...still digesting. Most of it good - a lot involves more responsiblity and leadership at my school. So I decided that I just couldn't do blog candy last Friday because I was plain exhausted. However, blog candy will resume this Friday so be sure to check back! My family had a bbq for all of the father's on Sunday and I've been super busy with the kids! I haven't made a single card or crafted one bit in over a week...but today will be the day. Stay tune.

Winner & sympathy

Today's card is one that I'm glad I don't need a lot of. However, the former assistant of the Librarian at one of our sister schools just recently passed away. I worked with her for a couple of summers. I was not able to go to service but will be sending this card along so that her husband knows that I was thinking of their family.

BG blog Candy & graduation

Don't forget blog candy here. Today was the day, my stepson finally graduated from high school. I swear that the long winded speech one of the students gave was the same speech that I heard last year at my stepdaughter's graduation. Just long! There were close to 600 graduating seniors and Jon was like the 580th name called. So we just sat there but for some reason we are exhausted!

Today's card was made with Paper Trey Ink's new graduation set and black and white. It was a prototype to test out the stamp but I actually didn't make another graduation card so this is the only one I have to share! Just busy trying to wrap up the school year! Enjoy your day.

Basic Grey Blog Candy, busy weekend

Don't forget blog candy here.I have no idea where the weekend went! I took the kids to my parents house for a couple of hours after the gym and then went to see Sex and the City 2 with my friends and dinner after to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was a nice time but I was so tired, that it was bed for me. Today, was Costco day and it was crazy how much money you can spend there in an hour. Plus laundry day, equals a day at home and now it's 9:30 and I have to pack a couple of things for the post office and then to bed! But only 5 more days and I'm on summer vacation! Yeah!

Today's card is just a fun one using this super cute plane stamp and argyle stamp from PTI. I just got my new stuff from SU and it so fabulous but I've been trying to use up some of my existing stuff, especially the old colors and the new catalog is just full of fun stuff. Heads up, only new stamps have the cling mount option, existing stamps from last year's catalog is still wood! Talk to you all soon.

Work has been hectic, just trying to close out my year, only 7 more days to go. Woo Hoo! Tonight we are celebrating my step-daughter's birthday by going to dinner and having cake and in -between we are going to family storytime at the local library. Can you believe that she's 19? My husband has a 19 year old and a 2 year old! Crazy! Hope you all have a great day.

Cute Lily Pics

Here are some pics of Lily that I took during her birthday weekend. The first pic was taken on her birthday. The second was taken two days after her birthday. She's such a pretty little thing, not as tiny as I thought, she's in the 50th percentile for her height which is great. Not like her brother, who was always in the 95th percentile. I can't believe my baby is a little girl!
