SBS22 September Challenge

This card was created for a challenge by my SBS22 sister Aileen . The challenge was to create a Halloween or Fall card in the 6x6 format and she also had a sketch if we wanted to use it. So I used the sketch but changed the format to a regular card size so it could be easily mailed. These new (super duper cute!) cupcake stamps are from Taylor's new stamp line. I also purchased her little Halloween kit which came with these papers as well as some others, some black glitter and some matching brads. I used the brads and the bat is a Martha Stewart punch. I put Sakura quickie glue all over it and dipped it in the black glitter. I colored in the super cute cupcakes with my copics and then cut them out. For the pumpkin, I colored with orange and then used my blending pen to take some of the color out for shading. I used my white gel pen for the dots. All of the cupcakes and the sentiment are on dimensionals. The sentiment is actually from MFT's Fright Night. Please visit the links in my sidebar to my SBS sisters to see other challenge cards. I hope you like it!

Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #35

Here is the card that I made for Taylor's cupcake challenge. I used my new Bella Rose SU paper, along with my new SU scallop punch. The umbrella girl is from MFT and the sentiment is an SU hostess stamp set. I paper pieced her outfit and umbrella and colored the rest of her with Barely Beige copic marker. I made little black dots around the squares and used some red flowers from my stash. The whole thing is mounted on Pink Pirouette cardstock which I bought to make "thank you" cards for my sister's baby shower gifts but I ended up using for this card because it matched so nicely. I just love how it came out, I hope you do too!

Altered Recipe Box

Here is a recipe box that I altered fort the JustRite stampers contest last month. The paper is from K&Co. I also used stickers from the same line. The cardstock and ribbon is CTMH. The stamps are from JustRite.

I included a bundle of recipe cards and on one I put my recipe for these yummy chicken crescent rolls. The rest of the recipe is on the back of the card. It was a lot of fun using these stamps and I ended up buying almost the whole line. There are so many ways they can be used, especially for personalization.

Just Rite Stamper Project & Winner

I have been using the heck out of my JustRite stamper. A couple of weeks ago they had a contest and I entered quite a few entries and won a couple of gift certificates. However, I only had one monogram set and one border set. Everything else that I had ordered was on backorder so I was amazed that I could create so many different things with so little. Here, I used the elegant borders, curly letters monogram stamp set and the "from the Libray of" border set to make these book labels and bookmark. I put them in a little clear acetate box and the books were from MFT's Back to School stamp set. The paper is Paper Trey Ink.

Tracy.H is the winner! Hey girl, please email me your address so that I can get your prize out to you. Thanks for playing everyone and wishing my son a Happy Birthday. I took both kids for their checkups. Tyler is a giant, he's just under 38 inches tall and he weighs 34 lbs. He's in the 97th percentile. Lily is an average baby, she now weighs 15 lbs and I can't remember how tall. She had to have 5 shots! I don't remember Ty having that many. So she was on a righteous bummer!

Tie the Knot Scrapbook page

I took the leftover pieces of the Tie the Knot scrapbook kit from making the flip album and I put together this scrapbooking layout and I also got to use some more of my leftover pictures! This layout will go into my family album. It was a great way to use up the leftovers. I still have a few scraps left and will see about making a card or two out of them but I pretty much used up the entire kit! I really like how it came out and it was nice to scrapbook an older event, it reminded me of what a beautiful bride my sister was!

My First Flip Album

I made a flip album! You can find the directions for making this album here. I just happened to have the same simply scrappin' kit from Stampin' Up and these leftover pictures from my sister's wedding a couple of years ago. The kit is called Tie the Knot. I just followed the directions on the website and used the kit to compile my album. The pics are not that great, so sorry but the album came out beautiful!

Today is Ty's 2nd birthday!

Here is a picture of him at 2 months. He was always an active baby. I don't think he slept at all that first year. But he was always smiling and happy!
Here he is at 2 years old. He's just gorgeous and not a baby anymore but a little boy.

To celebrate I am giving away this BG 6x6 paper pack and this Fiskars Birthday acrylic stamp set. To win this blog candy just leave a comment on this post by next Tuesday and I will select a winner on Wednesday.

No Stamp Wedding Cards

Here are some really easy, yet still elegant wedding cards. There isn't a lot of layering on these cards. The only stamping is what I do on the inside! The base card is shimmy cardstock run through the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I then used stickers from K&Co. for both cards. The silver paper is from some blog candy I won last month. I then tied off the side with organza ribbon! I have tons of stickers that I bought to use for scrapbooking and either didn't use or only used some of them. If they're nice stickers like this, why not use them for cards?

Altered Letters for Lily

First, I want to apologize for the terrible pictures. These altered letters did not fit in my little photo cube so I put them on my windowsill but I just couldn't get very good light. Anyway, I bought these wood letters from Michaels. I couldn't find my modge podge but I had some crystal laminate that I used instead. Basically, I traced the letters on this gorgeous K&Co. Berry paper and then cut it out. Once it dried, I then decorated with some of the coordinating stickers. In real life, these letters are so cute! I have some letters for Tyler for over a year but I haven't done his yet. I guess I should...it's just this paper was so cute, I couldn't help but do Lily's first.

Thanks for looking!

Cupcake Fun in Pink

This card was made using scraps of paper that I have had for awhile. The cupcake is from a mini cupcake set by Hero Arts. I used my SU punches for the circle and scallop. I took my Ranger opaque pen and made little dots around the scallops to help it stand out. I think that this would be a cute card for my stepdaughter to give to one of her friends. Thanks for looking.

Teach, Learn, Explore

My SBS group is now in full swing. One of our activities is called Teach, Learn, Explore. Each month a different sister introduces us to a new technique, a tutorial, a new product or website, etc. This is the first month and I really wanted to do something spectacular. But alas, work, babies and lack of sleep have prevented me from having the time. So for this month. I'm going to present a technique many of you have tried but some may not!

Paper piecing! A great beginning tutorial can be found at Splitcoaststampers. Erin K has a tutorial on dealing with paper piecing just a portion of an image. Gina K makes it look easy with this great tutorial. Amy has one of my favorite tutorials! I have to make some of these baby cards they are super cute!

My suggestions for adhesive include the Sakura Quickie Glue or my very favorite tool under 10 bucks the Xyron 150 sticker maker.

Once you cut out your image, you feed your little paper pieced bits and it comes out like a sticker, you just peel it off and stick. You can also just keep it on the sheet and stick later. It helps also you not lose the tiny little paper pieced bits you just cut out!
I have lots of examples of paper piecing on my blog but here is a new one. On this card, I stamped and colored in the icing on my cupcake and then paper pieced the cupcake lining. If you paper piece first when you color, you might get marker on your lining. The dp is Su and the cardstock is CTMH. The pink brad is Doodlebug and it's all sparkly! I used my JustRite Monogram stamper for the HB and the Happy Birthday was from one of my SU sets. I think the cupcake was from Inkadinkadoo. I also put some glitter on the cupcake so it's shiny in real life.

Sketch Challenge Tuesday

Here is a card for Tuesday. I made it for a sketch challenge at iheart2stamp.com and I am also sending the card too! I'm posting a little bit late because I'll probably be a little late posting the winner of the heart candy. I will have a regular post tomorrow because I have it set for auto post but I have to select the winner when I get home from work. Still no computer access at work! Anyway, I used Basic Grey Euphoria paper and I ran my Blush and Amethyst cardstock through my cuttlebug using the swirls embossing folder. The stamps are SU and the flowers were paper pieced using the Euphoria paper.

Talk to you all later.
