Smiles Across the Miles & blog candy

Thanks for joining me today. If you viewed this earlier, I hadn't posted the blog candy because I was busy this morning painting the bathroom. We painted it a pretty green, it looks very nice. This week I am giving away this 6x6 Cosmo Cricket Wanted mini deck. To win just leave a comment on this post letting me know what craft or home project you are working on or what projects are next on your to do list. At the end of the post, please find the winner of last week's candy.

I really like today's card! It meets the Fantabulous Cricut challenge to create a friendship card and the Cricut Circle Blog challenge to create a scene. I used the Pop Up Neighborhood Cart and cut the balloon at 3.25, the grassy area was cut at 1.75. The dp is Jillybean soup and I did a bit of doodling on the balloon image to make it pop. The sentiment is PTI.

So what have you all been doing this summer? I have spent a lot of time at the pool but not one single day at the beach and I only live 20 minutes away! Today, the kids have their last swimming lesson and Tyler starts soccer soon. On Sunday, we are going to Knott's Soak City water park.

Today, is my parent's 39th wedding anniversary and my Grandmother's 83rd birthday. The story goes, that my parents had been talking about getting married for awhile (I have no idea on how long that is realistically as my mom was a couple of months shy of 19) and my grandparents were joking that they were going to Vegas for my Grandma's birthday and if they really wanted to get married they should come to Vegas with them. They were very surprised to find my parents at their doorstep waiting to go to Vegas. They were married at the Chapel of the Stars by a wannabe Elvis impersonator. Hilarious right? Yesterday, we took my grandmother and her husband out for lunch. I took the kids and they were very well behaved for once.

Hope that you are enjoying your day.

Edited to add: Winner of the Blog candy from last week is sunshine honey bee. Please email me with your address so that I can mail your prize.

This is such a fun and cheerful card. Love the lovely papers you've used.
You really should take the kids to the beach before the summer is over. I'm a boring old lady, I've spent my summer in the garden or the craft closet.

such a fun card! I love hot air balloons :)

Today, i am going to work my Christmas cards!! The only thing to do here when it's hotter than HOT... And I'm thinking about my SU! order. it's been too hot to do much here, so we're chilling in the AC, going to the gym and the pool.

Happy Birthday to your Grandma and Happy Anniversary to your parents!

Love the card and love the blog candy too. I've been babysitting all summer, but sadly that is about to end, this week in fact. I can't believe how much I've grown to love it.

LOL--what a great story about your parents. Love the papers you used for your card. I'm pretty new to the Cricut but am getting a lot of practice this week making decorations for my DIL's baby shower.

A very "uplifting" card! As soon as it cools down enough I need to caulk around one of our outer doors and then paint the whole door frame.

Hi Cindy!
I love your beautiful card!!! The pattern paper you chose are perfect.... It's always a challenge for me when selecting different pattern paper for a project...you did a wonderful job. My next project....its actually 2 scrapbooks that I don't really know where to start (I just started scrapbooking) I've been making cards for years. I have two sons and I'm trying to figure out how to scrapbook the past 12 -14yrs.
Thank you for the great giveaway....sweet:)

Does organization count as a craft project? I guess I did make a menu board and a container for my pens and highlighters....and about 70 sticky note stand up holders for work. I guess I have been crafting a little more than I thought. Thanks for the give away. drivers133@gmail.com
