This week's blog candy is this hostess stamp set called cute by the inch from SU. To win leave a comment on this post! Last week's winner is Rockin' Renee. Please email me with your address so that I can mail your prize to you!

Poker Hand

Today's card was made for a retiring colleague who loves video poker and Las Vegas. I actually was in Vegas the same time as him a few years ago and won my one and only jackpot during that trip so I thought that it would be fun to make him a card that embodies his interests. This card was made with the Cricut Cartridge Father's Day. I think it came out super cute! I also had this retiring SU Jackpot paper that I've been hoarding that just went perfectly with this poker hand cut! Thanks for looking today!

Beach Park

Today, I am showing a layout from last year's San Diego trip. I had a lot of fun pictures so I made a little book of photos and attached it to my layout. The journaling was added to a card that is hidden behind one of the photots. The paper and some of the elements were from Bo Bunny and I had them forever so it was nice to use them!

Birthday sundaes #19

Hi everyone. Today is Birthday Sundaes challenge #19 and is an inspiration challenge. If you go to the Birthday Sundaes blog (www.birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com)you will see the inspiration picture, make a birthday card inspired by the picture and be sure to link it up on the blog! My card uses different shades of blue and some texure by embossing the kraft cardstock. The dp is retired SU and the cupcake is from PTI and is from their anniversary stamp set. The sentiment is from SU. I hope that you can join us this week and next week will be my last week on the DT and we will be having a blog hop!
Don't forget I am giving away a stamp set about two posts down!
I spent the weekend furniture shopping. I think we went to every store in town and still didn't make a decisive decision! We are looking for a sectional but we would like it to be a good size but not huge. Ugh! not fun and tomorrow I have to drive about 35 miles away for a conference, it will be nice to see colleagues but I am not looking forward to getting up early!

Epic Year

Today I am sharing a case of a card that I saw on Nichole heady's blog. It's a white on white background with some dry embossing. The card uses Grunge Me and Game On. I just love the sentiment and the font. It's perfect for teens and tweens. My cousin's little boy is now 11, wow, so I appreciate these stamps that suit this age group.

It's the real thing

Winner of last week's candy is Jill Angel! Please email me and I will mail your prize to you. This week's prize is this set of Autumn stamps from hanna Stamps. To win, please leave a comment on this post.

Today's card is a simple one and uses up scraps which I love. The paper is from SU Holiday Lounge and while it was intended for holiday projects, I love to use it for retro projects. The stamp set is from PTI and the colors are red and tempting turquoise. I added some brads in the bottom for some minor embellishments because it looked a little plain.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks a melon

Today, I am sharing a card that I made for this month's Cricut Circle Challenge which was to create a BBQ/Picnic inspired card using gingham. I used the Just Becasue Cards cartridge for this card. The gingham paper is from A Muse Sutio and the ribbon is from CTMH. I mostly used scraps of paper from my scrapbin in coordinating colors which felt great to use up some of those pieces. Thanks for coming by and looking today.

I think summer has finally arrived in SoCal. It's been reaching high 80's and low 90's. How hot is it where you are? Stay cool!

Tree-mendous day!

Hi everyone. I am sharing my entry to the My Pink Stamper DT challenge. The challenge is to create a card, scrapbook layout or other product using the colors pink, green, brown, orange and turquoise. For this challenge I created a standard A2 card. The argyle background is from the Wildcard cartridge - I used the colors turquoise and orange and cut at 5.25 inches. The palm tree is from one of my favorite cartridges Create a Critter and the colors are brown and olive green and cut at 4.0 inches. The sentiment is My Pink Stamper from the stamp set More Punnylicious and was stamped in brown on a white tag layered on pink cut from the Once a Princess cartridge at 1.5 inches.

I really like how it came out. Thanks for looking!

Goodbye Harry Potter

Last night I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. It was very bittersweet, I thought the movie was excellent, action packed and very faithful to the book. At the end, I felt very sad, after 15 years of reading and watching HP it's all over, no more Harry. Thank you JK Rowling for writing such a brilliant and imaginative series of books that changed children's book publishing and how we view children's literature forever! I'll miss you Harry!

Don't forget I have blog candy here.

Under the Big Top

Today, I am sharing some scrapbook layouts from a circus outing we had last summer. The circus is not what it used to be. I haven't been since I was a kid. Today's circus is mostly acrobatics, people who can fold themselves up into a box and some elephants and lions. There were no clowns and really the magic of the circus was missing. This layout uses some paper that I had bought at my LSS and was just sitting in my stash area. The lettering and all of the other cutouts were made with my Carousel Cricut cartridge.

Nautical Father's Day

Today, I am sharing a Father's Day card made with summer mini SU products - Nautical expedition and open seas stamp set all from SU. It's a very easy card but a nice one for the man in your life. Men like simple cards, they are so not into fancy folds, ribbons and buttons and all the stuff we women love!

Simple Circles

I just love how this card came out. It was a case from I think Nichole Heady's website. I changed a few things, mainly because I was going off memory and I forgot how the card looked exactly so I stamped what I thought was an exact case but come to find out there are a few little differences. The cardstock base is kraft and the white main piece corners were rounded. I used all PTI stamps. The circles were from Simple circles. I stamped the empty circle in black which was actually from borders and corners: circles and then I stamped the inside piece from Simple Circles in tangerine tango, cherry cobbler, daffodil yellow and pacific point. The sentiment is from Ad Sense.

It's a really simple card but I really like how it came out and it was such a lucky find that the old borders and corners circles set works with this new set!

Adventure City

Today I am sharing a layout from last year when we went to Adventure City. The paper was from LSS and all of the elements flip up which unfortunately you can't tell from the picture. I also used the Cricut cartridge Create a Critter and Carousel. The kids really had a good time. I have been a good little scrapbooker and am getting through 2010! Making great progress and I hope to get to 2011 while we are still in 2011! The problem is of course that I also love card making and get distracted here and there with mini books!

Thanks for visiting!

Nautical Expedition

Thanks so much for joining me this week in another giveaway. This week I am giving away this retired MFT stamp set called Icing on the Cake. To win, please just leave a comment on this post and I will post the winner next Friday.

I loved reading everyone's kind comments and well wishes. I had a wonderful birthday. We went out to dinner and my children sang Happy Birthday and I blew out my candle on my Baskin Robbins chocolate chip ice cream fudge roll cake (my favorite!). There is nothing like having an earnest 3 year old Lily singing the birthday song with all her might! They were a little perturbed that there were no physical presents to open, that just didn't sit well with them. Luckily, my mom (known as Grammy to them) gave me an awesome present on the 4th of July, which they opened. It was an Isi carbonation system, basically a soda maker. I asked for it and she hooked it up. I will let you know how it all turns out when I finally get a chance to use it.

A couple of lovely blog readers sent me some birthday cards so I will be posting them soon to share with you.

4th of July was awesome, we had carne and polla asada on the grill with all the fixings and I made vanilla bean ice cream and blueberries and cream ice cream as well as cream puffs with homemade whipped cream dipped in chocolate. Yummy! There is no way that I could make all that if it was during the school year so it was really fun to make these treats I never have time for.

Tyler has baseball two evenings a week and both kids are taking a hip hop dance class once a week and they start swimming lessons the end of the month so my summer is busy. Luckily, I had created a lot of cards before school let out because I haven't even been in my craft room in nearly a month! Yikes! I have two quick cards below...-

These cards use some more new summer mini products from SU. I used Nautical Expedition dp and the Open Sea stamp set. The background was stamped with sahara and the globe was stamped in chocolate and the compass in navy. The card also uses a new SU product Baker's Twine.

Thank you so much for visiting me and be sure to leave a comment to get in the drawing and before I forget the winners of last week's prize!

Flowerpot Mother's Day

Today I am showing another card that I made for Mother's Day. I used my favorite retired SU dsp and the cuts are from the Everyday Popups cartridge. The grass is from MFT die and the burgundy paper was run though my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. I used some glue and glitter for the tops of the flowers. Thanks for visiting me today.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #16

Today I am sharing a card for this week's Birthday Sundaes Challenge. It's the ever popular "Anything Goes" challenge. To win a digital stamp prize from our sponsor Glitterbabes, please make a card with some kind of birthday wording on it and submit it to the challenge blog to be in the running.

My card this week uses the MFT stamp set Birthday Girl from the Pure Innocence line. I also used the SU dp called Playdate. I paperpieced her dress and used copics for the rest of the coloring. The top of her crown has some glitter on it and I used brown satin ribbon. I think that this is a very sweet card. I hope that you like it and that you will join us this week!
