Using scraps and Pink Flamingo

Today is the last day for my current blog candy here.

With today's economic times, I thought that I would discuss stamping on a budget. Of course, the number 1 thing is to use what you have but that's so difficult. Our mojo needs new papers and/or stamps for that inspiration so combining the new with what you have is a start. When buying new, consider a paper share or splitting a DCWV stack with a crafting friend.

When purchasing paper, especially paper shares and those huge DCWV stacks, we always have those papers we don't like, don't know how to use, etc and what to do with scraps?

For the next couple of days, I will be showing some cards made with some paper I just didn't love (to put it nicely), this is SU's Pink Flamingo. These cards also make use of scraps. In this sketch, I used strips of paper in different coordinating patterns. I tied off a white ribbon and used piercing to kind of give detail and break up the crazy patterns. I used the stamp set Party Hearty which I bought during SU's birthday stamp discount. I think this is the first time I used this stamp set! I used coordinating ink and cardstock colors in riding hood red (I had a scrap of this handy) and tempting turquoise. I used my punches and a rhinestone from some other promotion that I had handy. So I not only used scraps, paper from a pack I'm not crazy about and used a stamp set that was seeing ink for the first time!

Stay tuned for my next card...

Hi Cindy

Great card. Thanks for sharing. In deed we always have those scrap papers and don't know what to do with them!
