Spring Butterfly

Here is another card made for Verve Stamp's March challenges. It was a sketch challenge and I had to use the colors pink, red and green. So I pulled out my SU Bella Rose DP. The stamp set is Verve Stamps Fluttering By and the sentiment is also Verve but I can't remember the name. The ribbon and brads are from my stash. The butterfly is stamped in rose red and is propped on foam tape. The sentiment is stamped in riding hood red. I really like how the card came out, very springy and I even plan on sending this card!

Chocolate Cupcakes and a Lily cupcake

Here are some super cute pics of Lily. She will be offically 10 months old tomorrow! I can't believe that my baby is almost 1. Isn't she just gorgeous? Ok enough gushing about my Lily, how about a card today?

This is a card that I made for a Verve challenge. It was a sketch challenge but I also had to make it a birthday card. The stamp is from Verve's Cupcake Affair and the sentiment is MFT. I stamped the main image in chocolate and the top flower and image are stamped in riding hood red. The icing on the cupcake is covered in stickles and it looks so sparkly and yummy. The ribbon is from my stash and the dp is Au Chocolat, long retired from SU. I am still on Spring Break countdown, only a few more days until Friday!

MFT Mother's Day & Blog candy

Here is today's blog candy. Just leave a comment on this post by next Tuesday. I will select a winner on Wednesday. If you are a subscriber you may leave 2 comments.

First of all, sorry the picture is so blurry. My camera is just on the fritz all the time it seems. I'm saving up to buy a new one. In the meantime, this is a card that I made for 2 MFT challenges on Splitcoast. The first was a sketch challenge and the second was to use this stamp set, Mother's Day. I paper pieced the flower pot and dress with SU afternoon tea designer paper and it's matted using my rectangle scalloped nestabilities. The So Saffron ribbon is from SU's SAB promotion and the flowers are from my stash. I colored in the rest of the image using my copics. The base is So Saffron and was embossed using my cuttlebug.

More Good Eggs

While I'm waiting for my school pics, I thought that I would share some cute pics of my little ones.

Here is another Easter card that I made using the SAB ribbon and DP and Good Egg stamp set. I used a different design for the paper piecing of the egg to bring in the celery color a bit more because I wanted to use a spring prima and yellow rhinestone brad. So fun and such as simple card but the layout of the dp kind of jazzes it up so it's not ordinary!

Cute chick

Isn't this a cute card and so easy...The colors are SU bashful blue and so saffron. The dp and ribbon is from the SAB catalog. There are less than 2 weeks left to get some of this cute SAB stuff for free! The stamp set is SU A Good Egg which I bought when SU was having their bundle sale. I'm so glad that I got it, it's really cute. The egg is paper pieced with more delicate dots paper and I just stamped the sentiment on the bottom in black. I used my nestabilities for the scallop square. The chick is colored in with copic markers. My kids too pictures at school so I'm hoping that I will get them in time to enclose one in my Easter cards and send them out before Easter. Have a great day everyone.

Reach for the Stars

This is a card that I made for one of Taylor's sketch challenges. I used all CTMH products (except ribbon from Taylor's store) and the star punch is from SU. The stamp set is called Reach for the Stars and it's an acrylic stamp set. I used my copics to color everything in. I think that it made a very cute little boy card.

A Spring Bouquet

This is a card that I made for the MFT March Designer challenge which was to use buttons. I hardly ever use buttons even though I have them! I used items that I had never used before so that felt really good. The first was this Build a Bouquet stamp set from MFT. The colors I used were tangerine and kiwi kiss. The planter was stamped using kiwi kiss onto haiku paper and cut out. The rest of the dp you see is from SU's retired haiku which was the other item that was unopened. I think it went really well this this stamp set. I didn't want naked buttons but I didn't really have anything so I just cut a thin strip of paper and ran it through the buttons. Last but not least, the ribbon is striped tangerine.

Ride 'Em Cowgirl & BASIC GREY BLOG CANDY

This is the card that I made for the MFT American Idol auditions on Splitcoaststampers. The card was made using the Scenic Route paper pack Providence, kiwi kiss and black cardstock and ribbon from my stash. The stamp set is Ride em Cowgirl. I paperpieced her dress and the cactus which I stamped twice and layered on top of each other with mounting tape for dimension. The rest of the image was colored with copics.

I don't if I like the card really, I think the colors are outside my norm but I did get to ink up as stamp that hadn't seen ink yet so that was good!

Today's candy is awesome. It's the new Marrakesh 6x6 paper pack from Basic Grey. To win leave a comment on this post and mention this candy on your blog if you have one. If you are a subscriber, you may leave two comments. In California, it's pink Friday to stand up for schools as today is the day that the state is required to let teachers know if they will be laid off. Over 9,000 teachers are expected to get a layoff notice by today. So if you live in California, wear pink to support our teachers!

Watercolor Flowers & Winner

I hope that you're not too sick of SAB yet. This card uses Botanical Blooms and the Delicate Dots DP. For the flowers, I opted to watercolor the flowers instead of using the 2 step stamping technique. I saw someone do it on another website, forgot the site and I really liked the look. The colors used include Pacific Blue, So Saffron and Kiwi Kiss.

The winner of the stamp set is Jennifer... Please email me with your mailing address! I loved reading about what everyone had on their wish list. I have some PTI stamps on my list as well as some shimmerz... My hair looks the same only not gray! I'll post a winner when I get a chance. Thanks for playing, more candy on Friday!

Baby Thank You's

My mom asked me to make some thank you cards for some co-workers who gave baby gifts to my sister's new baby. So here they are! I took pink pirouette cardstock and embossed it with my swiss dots cuttlebug folder. The paper is Bella Rose and the stamp set is from Paper Trey Ink. I used the onesie stamp and one of my favorite techniques paper piecing. The sentiment is also SU and I used SU punches for the circles, scallop circle and scallop edge. It's really pretty in real life. My mom was really happy with it!

Soft and blue

I just love how this card came out, so soft and pretty! I used the SAB Botanical stamp set along with the SAB DP. I just got some new spellbinders dies and I can't remember what this one is called, I think its labels 2 and it works really nicely with this. I tied off some bashful blue striped ribbon and a small sentiment and it's done!

Polka Dot Punches

Here is another card made using sale-a-bration products. The paper is delicate dots and the stamp set using polka dot punches stamp set, both are items that you can earn for free. The colors that I used are so saffron, bashful blue and kiwi kiss. It's a simple card but my stepkids are always needing thank you cards and unfussy ones work best. The 5 petal punch works perfectly with this particular stamp as well as other punches and the other stamps from the set which is great, more uses for my punches! Have a great day!

Monday Heroes, Tuesday NCIS, Wednesday Lost... It won't be long until we're having repeats! I hope that everyone is enjoying their day. Talk to you all soon.

Candy bar gifts

Here are some covered chocolate bars that I made to give out to Ty and Lily's daycare teachers. the second one I made in a class using the hostess level 2 stamp set as well as this new flower set. The first one uses hollyhock CTMH cardstock and a heart stamp set that's a bit older from SU. These are the kind that the candy bar pulls up with the ribbon. The directions can be found on splitcoast.
Things have been a little stressful around here. I work at a school and there are talks of extreme budget cuts so I haven't really felt too much like stamping!
