Paper Heart Candy to win!

HI everyone! Today, I have a 6x6 paper pad by Basic Grey called Romani Gypsy. It has lots of beautiful spring colors. All you have to do to win is to tell me your favorite Disney memory. It can be Disneyland or Disneyworld, if you have never been then a favorite childhood vacation memory. I remember going to Disneyland when I was about 7 with just my mom and dad and my favorite cousin Lisa. I have no idea what my parents did with my siblings but we had a blast. And does everyone remember E tickets? My mom used to trade them because we were too little to go on those rides. And my Dad remembers fishing with his brother off Mark Twain Island. They actually had fishing poles and kept that little lake stocked with fish. He also remembers going to Disneyland the year they opened!

My baby absolutely loved the Disneyland Christmas parade. It was worth the back ache and sore arms to see the expression on his face. All the way back to the car, he kept chuckling to himself like he was remembering the experience and couldn't help laughing about it. I am so glad we went on Wednesday because today it's pouring rain!

I have not heard yet from the winner of Figgy Pudding. If I don't hear from her by Saturday midnight, then I will draw a second name with Random.org on those who have commented on this post! You have until midnight Tuesday to post a comment to win and I will choose a winner randomly on Wednesday. Happy Friday!
Pin It Now!

My favorite memory was of my own 3 year old son who started crying as we left. I told him that one day we would come back to "Busyland", as he called it. He continued to cry and said, "But, mama, Mickey will be all grown up by then".

OMG! Is this question for me or what?! There are so many. I have only been to Disneyland once and Disneyworld once, but I tell ya...have you ever been somewhere and you just feel like you have come 'home'? Well that is exactly what it was like for me in Disneyworld. I know it sounds weird for an adult to say that, but I am meant to be in WDW! Just walking through those main gates...going under the train tunnel and walking out into mainstreet...well it just about brings tears to my eyes. I know...I need help! ;0) I can't believe it's been 8 years!! I really need to go back...and soon!!

Oh my...I remember going on "Pirates of the Caribbean" when I was a child and thinking about that HUGE drop off at the beginning...then going back when I was an adult and thinking that the drop off was really going to be quite small because we remember things as being so big that aren't really...well it WAS just as BIG as I remembered!!! (But I loved it) And I remember LOVING "It's a Small World".

Hi Cindy!
Thanks for another great give-away! I love that Gypsy paper!

My favorite Disney World memory is from 2000. They had a millineum parade with huge, I mean HUGE stick puppets that walked along the parade route. And the music was absolutely fabulous!

What gorgeous paper!!!
Well, my parents took me when I was younger but I don't remember it. Then when I was in high school I went with my aunt and cousins. I LOVED the parade! And the restaurants where so unique. It was...November I think and chilly at night but we had to have the frozen chocolate covered mickey ice cream anyway!

My favorite memory & we still talk about it (my son is now 32)! We went to breakfast with the characters for my daughter (then age 10 & she is now 27) & my son (age 16 at the time) & Goofy kept coming over to play with my son's hair, he had a buzz cut at the time. He kept coming to our table & he would run his hand over my son's hair & everyone would laugh! You really had to be there!!! I'm glad that you are making your own memories now with your little one, they are so precious!!!

Just found your blog through Becky's. I'd love to be entered in the draw. What a great giveaway. My favourite Disney memory was when I was in high school, went on a band trip. My best friend walked out of her hotel room with the same outfit on as me. And we hadn't planned it! So cheesy, but I still have all of our photos with the characters, we look like twins.

Once at Disney was enough. There was a tornado and my kids were stuck on that Mountain thingie and had to walk down. I was outside throwing up from the tea cup ride. Never again!

I have only been to Disney World and that was about 25 years ago. I remember the ride It's a Small World, as my favorite ride.

I went to Disney when I was just 6 and haven't been back since. I remember that my favorite ride was "It's a Small World". I didn't like much though, cuz I got some sort of rash from the sun the first day and itched and looked like I had the measles for the week! LOL :)

My memory of Disney is from Disney in Paris (or outside of Paris). It's strange to experience Disney French-style! It's not quite as big as the US Disney's -- but just as fun!

I would say it was going the weekend after I graduated boot camp in Orlando! My father bought tickets and we went with my baby sister (she was 3 or 4 at the time) and my little brother (he was 11 or 12 at the time). It was SO fun!

I went to Disneyworld when I was like 7-10, the thing I remember the most are those machines where you put a coin and then it was decorated with some kind of picture about the park. I thought they were so cool! :)

Ok I should win this, because I have never ever been. :( Can you believe that? I was going to wait till both my girls were old enough to remember, but my youngest one freaks out when people are dress in customers. Which they are EVERYWHERE there. She has never changed yet. Ok see I should win cause all I have is a sad want to be memory. LOL
Thanks for a chance.

One of my favourite memories of Disneyland is the Electrical Parade. I remember that it was so beautiful...all the lights and the wonderful floats. We were so excited to be able to see it. I also remembered how wonderful it was to go on the Jungle Cruise and tour Bear Country. We loved watching the dancing bears. It really is my favourite place to visit!

Never been to disneyland but have a theme park over here..nothing that could match disney land. But my most vivid memory was when I was 13 and that half way thru one ride, that carriage that I was seating in...opened up. And boy I howled. I was 100 ft up in the air, with all chances of falling down.
Lucky to say they brought me down safely and I've never been able to go after that...I get too freaked out at rides. :)

I love your paper candies.

My best memory was very exciting. The first time we took our kids to Disneyland was in 1985 when my son was 10 & daughter was 6. Disneyland was celebrating their 30th birthday and giving prizes to the 300, 3,000, 30,000, and 300,000 person thru the gate. We had a two day pass. The first day my daughter was the 300th person & won plush Mickey & Minnie dolls. We were really excited! She felt bad that her brother didn't win anything and offered him the Mickey doll which he didn't take. So when we arrived a few days later, she said, "Get back in the car, I want to pray". (reluctantly I got back in the car when actually I'd have preferred to just get to the gate before the line was too long:) She thanked God that she had won and asked God to let her big brother win something too. The faith of a child...miraculously he walked thru the gate and music started playing, cameras were running toward us, & Mickey Mouse ran up to Ryan with a giant key. My son was the 300,000th person and won a new car!

Love, love, LOVE Disney World!! About a year and a half ago we loaded up in my sister's SUV and headed to FL to visit our family. One day we told the kids that we were "going to the outlet malls" which they were actually quite excited about. As we got closer to the Disney park smalls signs of Mickey started popping up but the kids didn't catch on. Then just as we were going under the Disney World entrance we told the kids that we had changed our minds about the outlet stores. We asked them to look out the window and see if they could tell where we were going. My sister and I shouted out "We're going to Disney World!!!!!!!" The video of this moment is absolutely PRICELESS! Screams, whoops, hollars, and every other form of excitement filled the car. It was one of the best days of all of our lives!

My family went when my sons were 5 & 2. They are now 13 & 10. We need to go back while they still might enjoy it! Just planning the route of which exciting ride we would go on next. Taking pictures of our family with Mickey Mouse. Seeing the joy in their eyes at every sight, sound and smell. I want to go to Disney World NOW!!!

The first time I went there was on my honeymoon! It was amazing. My favorite was Cinderella's castle. We had dinner there the first night and it was just as magical as they say it is. I cannot wait to take my kiddo's, however the youngest needs to get a bit older before we take that on!

Awesome Candy!!! I grew up in CA and at Disneyland. My favorite was when my Mom and I (who love roller coasters) tricked my younger brother (who hates roller coasters) onto Space Mountain. We were in line and he heard the screaming so we told him it was just aliens popping out at people - like the haunted house but instead of ghosts there were aliens. So he was excited... then nervous... afterwards he didn't speak to us for hours!!

I've never been to Disney. My most memorable vacation is the only one taken as a child (I grew up on a dairy farm and you just didn't leave) and my dad thought it would be "fun" (NOT) to see how many states we could go to in 7 days!! Needless to say we spent more time in the pickup than we did enjoying the "view".

I am glad you had a good time at Disneyland. I remember the E tickets. We went to Disneyland on the way to Washingto to fly to Alaska, when my husband was in the Army in 1964. We had 3 small children then and they loved it, except the smallest was only 4 months old and of course wouldn't remember it. We live in Florida and have also been to Disney World several times and enjoyed it. Happy Holidays.

One of my most memoriable moments at Disneyland was in 1988 when they had their Blast to the Past theme. My mother sister and I were watching the parade. We noticed as the dancers were coming up the street they had periodically picked people out of the audience to dance in the parade a bit. My mom and I were joking around about how funny it would be if they picked me. Apparently the people next to us got the impression that I was shy or something , so when they came to our section the people next to us volunteered me, then turned to my mom and said Oh is she in for a big surprise to which my mom replied, No they are... she has been dancing since she was three. Needless to say I had picked up the dancers routine while they were coming up main street , so when they started their peppermint twist routine, I had it down pack, complete with the Disney smile. After we finished the guy thanked me for joining them and said it was a blast. I think this is one of my memorable moments because I got to dance in a Disneyland parade. Shortly after that I injured my knee which also ended my career as a dancer.

We just went to Disney World this past July, and had a blast. First time for DD age 5, second for Dd age 9. My all-time favorite memory is going with my older daughter when she was three. We did a character breakfast, and the smile on her face when Mickey came to our table would have melted the north pole! I will never forget that.

I went to Disneyworld once and I remember the smell of oranges on the way to the park! My fav memory is tricking my family into going on Space Mountain and being TERRIFIED myself!

LOL I've been a few times but my most memorable was when my 5 year old son went for his birthday. My parents were visiting from Seattle, and we lived in CA at the time. We had a great time, and then decided to split up so my son could continue going on rides while my mom, my cousin and I went off to take a break (oh yea - we had my baby daughter with us at the time - hubby had to work, so he missed it all). Anyway, my dad asks, "Where do you want to go now?" to my son. Who pointed and said, "THERE!" I think it was fantasyland - anyway, he darted out of my dad's hand, ran up to the FRONT of the line by darting under the ropes and hopped into the next boat, cutting in front of the people in line....my poor dad was chasing him, saying, "Stop! Stop!" Of course that made heads turn, and when they saw little monkey boy ambly making his way to the front of the line, they actually chuckled instead of being angry....my poor dad was out of breath by the time he caught up, and everyone was kind enough to let them continue on with the ride. I do think my dad played it a little bit, saying that, "That's my grandson. He got away from me and is hearing impaired - I guess he couldn't hear me calling him". While my son is hearing impaired, I don't think he would have stopped even if he HAD heard my dad! That's my fondest memory of Disney!

Oh your so lucky to be so close to Disneyworld!!! I've never been ...
maybe one day!!! When I was young,my parents couldn't afford to bring us to a big holiday like that, our holiday was to spend time with relatives they both came from big families and so we would drive 10 hours to be with them for a week. But now that I am an adult with no children,my husband and I started going away every year for 2 weeks in hot sunny spots. We're going to Jamaica in Jan. I can't wait!!! Thanks for the chance to win that yummy paper!

I have only been to Disney World once, and the only thing I can remember is going through the It's a Small World Exhibit, and seeing all the animated dolls singing.

Can't wait until I can take my two and let them create some memories.

Tough question! I must say that my favorite memory is when my youngest daughter said that being with her cousins was her favorite thing from Disneyworld (and Orlando in general). It reminds me that family is our greatest blessing. Thanks for the chance to win some candy! Sandra

Thanks for sharing!

My favorite memory is being at Disneyland at night all tired from the rides but not knowing it, and cranky that my mom is making us sit on a dumb curb when all of a sudden I hear this music and see these lights....and the Electric Parade begins. I don't think it exists anymore which is so unfair to kids these days - best parade EVER!!!!!

I can still hear the music...

Why don't I own this gorgeous pad of paper? Wow I love it! Thank you again for offering up such yummy goodness!

I remember E Tickets!!!
As a matter of fact, my Nana just passed away and when we went searching through her photo albums for photos I found a whole BUNCH of them!!
AWWW! Sweet memories of Nana and Disneyland decorated for Christmas are my favorite! But my best memory was when I was 7yo, when we got "lost" together (accidentally separated from the rest of our group), Nana bought me hot cocoa and we sat on a bench and waited for the family to "find" us. Guess who found us???... Mickey and Minnie!! I told them we were lost and they sat with us until the family found us again!!! 28 years later, with Nana gone now, it's still my most cherished memory of Disneyland.

Thanks for the reminder! Gonna' go searching through Nana's photos now to find photos of that year to ... SCRAP!!

Yes, I am one of the few people on the planet tha has never been to a Disney park; the closest I've been was to Euro Disney, but my husband and I went to Versailles instead. We were a child-less couple then, and the romance of Versaille trumped Disney. Now with 2 boys, I'm sure we will make the pilgramage to Disney soon.

I went to Disney World in Orland in 1973 when it was only open 2 years. It was our family's 1st trip, we got to stay at 1 of the 2 hotels for 3 days, attend a luau on the beach, drive mini speed boats, and visit all the attractions, and we didn't get to see everything!! It was fabulous & fun! I was all decked out in mickey mouse hat and earings and t-shirt, riding the monorail. I'll never forget it, great place! I can't imagine all the growth since then. Thanks, :).

I went to DisneyWorld when I was in Grade 7...yeah, that was a few years ago! lol :) We were supposed to fly there from Nova Scotia during March Break, but our plane got cancelled because of bad weather, so we drove all the way instead. We took an extra week as it took 4 days to drive there, a bit of a road trip, but we had a great trip down and back, lots of adventures and the time in Florida was wonderful. I can still remember seeing a Shamu show and some little otters putting on a show, they were too cute for anything. I seem to remember they were playing the part of bandits robbing a bank. lol :)

Thanks for your generosity and for the chance to play along! :)

Wow. I am really giving my age away with this one, because there was no Disneyworld then. I was 20
and flew alone to Disneyland from
eastern Canada to Anaheim and stayed with an aunt and uncle. It was magical then, but on their
25th anniversary, I returned with my family and enjoyed it all again.
My favourite thing other than It's a Small World, was the electic light parade.

I just love Disney world and wish that I lived closer so I could go again. My favorite memeory is when I went the very first time. I was in my mid 20's and it was my very first VACATION ON MY OWN. No one wanted to go so I went onmy own flying from CHicago, and seeing every single thing in both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot that was in the guide book. I will always remember that trip and love to remember my first trip and have since shared it with my niece and nephew and hope to make another trip soon.
